Doggerel is a derogatory term for verse considered of little literary value.

Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away. - Antoine de Saint-Exupery

Flash fiction is an interesting challenge for a writer. Cliché, usually something that a writer tries to avoid, becomes a tool. If a picture paints a thousand words, a cliché can paint a dozen. Every word counts, the writer must cut the story to the very bone. Cut too much and the narrative loses meaning or impact, not enough and the story will go over the word limit.

About the Author: Verse is a Jack Russell terrier,  a small dog with a big attitude (problem). He enjoys long walks, barking at unexpected noises and writing speculative fiction.
