The day was unusually cold, the sun had been eaten up by dark clouds that covered our city. I woke up next to her. She rustled through the sheets before turning toward me. I gazed at a familiar smile I loved so much. I pulled her body towards mine, one of her feet sliding in the space between my calves and the other on top. Her cheeks looked rosy and warm, like someone had just slapped her face, but it was just her natural glow. She told me good morning, followed by a kiss on the lips, just long enough for me to taste the morning breath, but forget about it after pulling away. It was 6:30 A.M. when we finally tumbled out of bed. The bed was left unmade, with the marks of where our loving bodies laid. I went to school and she went back to her own apartment to sleep more.

As I breathed out the fall atmosphere, my warm breathe condensed into a cloud. I regretted leaving the cozy, comforting bed. I got to school an hour before the first bell rang, only people with zero period classes roamed the halls. The history department of our school had a meeting. Mr. Schields approached me to speak about Azra. He tried to warn me about what a handful she is. He explained to me that she never listened to anything he had to say to her, she constantly talked back, yet through the work she gave to him, it seemed like she really valued the subject and listened in class. He told me she just had this, façade of a bad girl, but he could really tell she loved to learn. I could sense in his voice that he wished she was still in his class. Too bad she's my student now.

After the meeting, I went straight to my classroom. When I went to unlock the door, it was already open. Sitting on my desk was Azra, wrapped in a scarf, wearing a sweater big enough for the two of us to fit. Her feet were covered with playful polka dotted socks and fuzzy moccasins. In her delicate hands was a coffee cup, on my desk was another.

"A pumpkin spice latte for me and an Americano for you," her smiling lips, pressed to the cup as she took another sip. Her tender voice sounded like a song to me. "I wanted to thank you for not telling the attendance office that I cut class. I won't do it again. I promise." She picked up the coffee cup and extended it to me,"Here, drink it while it's warm."
"That's very, uh, thoughtful of you, Miss Belmonte," I thanked her, in a confused tone, taking the cup into my hand. My palm began to sweat against the heat of the coffee cup. "Here's to me being a cool teacher and you being a kind student," I raised my cup in the air, towards hers.  We bumped drinks and then took our sips. I tried to not wince at the taste of the bitterness of the black coffee. I didn't drink coffee much before then. After taking another long sip, I continued,"So, how did you get into my classroom without a-," the school bell rang for first period to start. Students started pouring into my room and Azra sat in her seat next to my desk, ignoring my question. I was supposed to speak to Miss Belmonte about her aditude today, and I ended up thanking her for being kind. It's funny how things can take a change for the better.

Azra slipped off her moccasins and hugged her knees to her chest. She sat comfortably in her seat, watching all her classmates sit in their seats. She continued taking sips from her latte. Her pink lips left a lip gloss stain against the lid. The boy who sat next to Azra, Reese, came in. He tried to greet her and she became stiff.

The second bell, the tardy bell, rang and I took roll. We took notes in class today, I finished off my drink as I taught the class. I periodically looked at Azra to see if she was paying attention. All class long I heard whispers and murmurs from her side of the classroom. Reese and her constantly chatted, he would make flirty passes towards her and she would just laugh. Heat rose to my head more and more each time I heard Azra talking to Reese, her voice filled with interest and lust, the same way she spoke to me. When there was five minutes left in the class time I told my students to pack up their things and I announced we would be changing seats the next day. Reese groaned.

"Miss Belmonte, I need to speak to you," I called for the young girl as I walked from the front of the classroom to my desk in the back. She nodded with a sense of accomplishment in her eyes.
"What do you need?" She inquired as she swung her backpack over her shoulder and stood in front of my desk.
"You told me you couldn't sit in that seat for what reason? You seem very comfortable sitting next to Reese," my voice sounded as if I was trying to punish my own child.
"If you really wanna know, Reese and I briefly dated. I didn't want to sit there because I knew I wouldn't be giving you my full attention. I knew he would be distracting me," she said truthfully, reaching into the side of her backpack to grab her cell phone. She unlocked the screen and began rapidly tapping on it, probably texting a friend about Reese. I glared over at the boy. Greasy hair, no arm muscle, I would smell his Old Spice coated body from here. Azra deserved better than a prepubescent teenage mutt like him. "Was that a little jealousy I heard in your voice?" she looked up from the small screen and tittered at my actions.
"What is there to be jealous about?" I questioned her. Reese was a boy, I was a man. There was no reason for me to desirous of him.
"Hm, I don't know," she sarcastically mumbled, she looked up and pretended to be thinking about something. I took delight in her almond eyes, dusted with the usual pink color, her long eyelashes. She leaned over my desk, her arms pushing together her breasts, I couldn't help but look down, I quickly stopped myself. "If you ever feel jealous again, Mr. Styles, just remember I brought you coffee, not him." She turned around and walked towards Reese, the two wandered out of my classroom as the bell rang. I just focused on thinking about how she brought me coffee.
