I travelled through the yellow springs,

Weary of soul and heart –

Oh, how my eyes brimmed with tears.

So much suffering and wailing,

I cannot bear it –

My heart cannot bear it.

I walked through rivers of tears and blood,

The bones frightened me –

I wanted to go home.

Soothed by your song,

I listened – oh, I listened.

The yellow springs did not amuse me.

I flew back to you with wings of joy.
