Chapter Seven: Itsumo Kokoro… La la la

Siya. Si Shin. I wrote this story for this kid. Not for Shin, pero para sa classmate niyang si Jonas. This is my version of the story. Jonas has a version of our “story”, and I was surprised with what he wrote. But this story ain’t exactly all about Jonas. Other kids were part of the story, too…

The full story is covered. I didn’t focus on Jonas only, para sa ending, kung sino man mga nagbabasa neto, maiintindihan niyo.

SWIMMING ULEEEEEET!

Gah. Pangalawang Sunday na to na magswimming kami ng family ko! Last Sunday di ako lumangoy, natulog lang ako sa Kubo na nirenta namin. Dala ko laptop ko para mag-layout sana ng flier para sa Marketing Plan kaso nakakaantok ata yung amoy ng chlorine na natulog na lang ako.

This Sunday, wala akong pakawala. I have to swim na. Ayoko pero kailangan. Malapit na bumalik ng Dubai stepfather ko kaya sinusulit niya bawat weekend na kasama mga anak niya.

Ang konti lang ng mga nagsswimming! Eto mga gusto ko! Mga walang tao. Hahaha. Pero. Wait. Sino yun. I see a familiar face. Hmmmm…

“Uy Shin!”, sabay kaway ko.

Yeah. Andon din si Shin sa resort kung nasaan kami.

“Ate Maria! Kamusta!”, sabi niya

“Okay naman! Sino kasama mo?”

“Tita at mga pinsan ko.  Hehe, Ikaw?”

“Family and cousins”

“Haha sige”

“Yeah! Haha have fun! Kitakits na lang bukas sa class!”

“Okay, Ate Maria. Haha”

After a few hours, nagkita ulit kami ni Shin sa ibang part naman nung resort. Malapit sa kubo nila. Malapit na sila umalis…

“Hindi ka uuwi ng Japan, Ate Maria?”, tanong sakin ni Shin

“Ay nako, hindi noh! Wala naman kaming communication ng tatay ko”, sabi ko

“Oh talaga? Ayaw mo siya hanapin?”

“I tried. Madaming beses ko siya hinanap”

“Pumunta ka na ba sa Japan Embassy?”

“Hindi pa. Never ko nga nakita yun eh.”

“Try mo dun lumapit para mahanap mo”

“Hmmm. Okay, I’ll try. Sounds like a good idea”

Then we both smiled at each other and I went back to swimming around, or actually just fooling around in the pool. Haha. Making splashy sounds and swimming like a dog. And did you ever realize how hard it is to run or walk fast while you’re in the pool but so easy to carry your fat little brother.

After swimming, my family decided to go to Tagaytay. Hindi naisip na hindi pang-Tagaytay yung attire namin. Shorts! Thin shirts! Slippers! Wet hair! Tagaytay is so damn cold during the –Ber months up to January. What the hell were we thinking?! So yung sipon ko sobrang lumala. Goodluck Maria, you have a long week starting tomorrow. Daming schoolwork at events. Wala pang matinong tulog. Now, malala ang sakit. I’LL DIE EVEN SOONER! :(

Monday.

Ahhhhh Monday.

Philippine Literature.

Why is Philippine Literature supposed to be in English again? :/

Me, texting with Shin and Jonas became often. Lalo na kapag Monday. We’re classmates non eh. Shin was absent. I seated at the back row. It was a regular class lecture. I didn’t sit beside Jonas either. Trip ko eh, bakit ba. Class ended really early. I left immediately.

After a few days of stress, sleep deprivation, gutom, pagod, long lectures, cooking a spicy shrimp soup of Thailand, meetings and house chores… FRIDAY. Thank God I’m still alive this Friday. Haha.

*beep beep*

“Hmmm.. Sino nanaman kaya ‘to. Di nakasave number sa phonebook ko”, I thought as I was opening the message…

“Hi Ate Maria, I’m Jane, Shin’s girlfriend. Its not that I’m jealous or anything but I’m asking a favor… Please stop texting with Shin for awhile, we are having problems as a couple. I don’t want you being involved”

….

I stare blankly at the text…

Keeps staring. I actually froze.

Then…

“HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. ANO ‘TO?!?!?! HAHAHAHA”, I bursted! Making all of my block-classmates (yung mga tunay kong classmate na kapareho ko ng course at year) look at me with confusion.

“Anyare sayo, Maria? Baliw ka na, noh?”, tanong ni Thesismate, Anne. Katabi ko siya.

“Hahaha, wait lang Anne, replyan ko lang ‘to. Hahaha”, I amusingly answered

Si Anne naman, close friend, thesismate, classmate and kasabay ko umuwi madalas, just went back to making the Financial Plan of our Feasibility Study.

“Hi Jane! Whatever is wrong with your relationship with Shin is none of my business but I will stop texting him if that what you want”, I replied.

“Thank you, Ate Maria. I appreciate it. I’m not jealous, nor insecure, I just want Shin to focus on our relationship”, she texted back. Oh talaga, teh? Sige push mo yan. Ahaha.

“You guys should talk about your issues. At wag din kayo mandadamay ng tao. Kayo yung magkarelasyon eh. Right communication lang yan. Hope you both sort things out”, reply ko na lang.

“Nung una pinagbibigyan ko lang siya kasi crush ka niya pero lagi na kasi nag-aaway. And whenever I talk to him about our relationship, nagtetext siya!”, text niya.

Awww. Bastos na bata ‘tong si Shin.

“Di naman tama yang ginagawa niya. Don’t let your boyfriend treat you that way. Maybe give him some time to cool off or something. Anyway, my class is starting. I hope you guys will work it out”, ending the texting with Jane.

Nag thanks and bye at sorry daw sa abala chorvaloo si Ate. Si Jane. Girlfriend ni Shin. Si Shin, na ewan ko sa kanya. Haha. Guys these days. Lumalaking bata pa din, stuck sa childhood stage!

Sinabi ko na yung nangyari kay Anne. Na nagtext girlfriend ng classmate ko sa Phil.Lit sakin. Tawa siya ng tawa. Sabay sabi, “Mga bata pa kasi yang classmates mo dyan!” Pasok pasok din sa older batches!”.

“I know, right? Hahaha. Kalokohan galore ang nagaganap!”, nagiging bakla nanaman ako.

“Wag ka na sumawsaw dyan. Jusmiyo. Single ka na nga sabay nadadamay ka pa sa mga ganyan. Hirap na”,payo ni Anne. Agony Aunt ko ‘tong si Anne.

“Hell yeah. Anyway, anyare na sa Financial Plan?”, baling ko na ng usapan..

“Ah eto… la la la la la la la” explain na ni Anne…

Ano na, teh? Watch out for the next chapter! Lumaki ba yung issue? Ano meron kay Shin at bakit siya ganon? May naintindihan ba ako dun sa Financial Plan na gawa ni Anne? Kailangan ba matatapos ‘tong kwentong ‘to? Bakit antagal ng progression ng story? Bakit andami kong tanong?!

Next stop sa Cluefull: Nagdate kami ni Jonas?! Di nga! Next week na chapter na yan! Busy ako eh. Hahaha.
