[The setting is Taylor's house. Taylor and Kate are in the pool.]
Taylor: Hey, have you heard from Samantha at all?
Kate: Nope. Not since the last day of school.
Taylor: That was a week ago. I hope she's okay. You know what? I'll give her a call.
[Taylor steps out of the pool and wraps up in a fluffy towel. She grabs her phone and calls Samantha. It goes straight to voicemail. She tries calling her house phone instead. Mrs.Clide answers.]
Mrs.Clide: Hello?
Taylor: Hello Mrs.Clide. Is Samantha available?
Mrs.Clide: Sorry Taylor. She is grounded.
Taylor: May I speak with her for just a moment please?
Mrs.Clide: Sorry honey, but no. Goodbye.
[Mrs.Clide hangs up.]
Taylor: Jeez. That was rude.
Kate: What's up?
Taylor: Apparently Sam is grounded. Her mom like told me no and hung up.
Kate: Wow, that is rude.
Taylor: Sam never gets in trouble. I wonder what happened.
Kate: Me too.
