[Samantha enters her house, tired. Her parents sit on the couch waiting. Their arms are crossed.]
Mr.Clide: Come sit. We need to talk. Now.
Samantha: Wha?
Mrs.Clide: COME SIT!
[Samantha sits down confused.]
Mr.Clide: Where were you Samantha?
Samantha: I was out with Jack and Logan.
Mrs.Clide: You told me the park. We went looking for you, and you weren't there!
Samantha: Well, it got dark and we went to Jack's house.
Mr.Clide: Lies.
Mrs.Clide: I called his mother. She said he was missing too.
Mr.Clide: Now, where were you Samantha?
[Samantha looks down.]
Samantha: We were at Lindsay May's.
Mrs.Clide: Who the hell is that?!
Samantha: Jack's girlfriend. We were at her house.
Mr.Clide: For?
[Samantha is silent.]
Mrs.Clide: Tell us. Right this instant. Why were YOU at Lindsay May's house?
Samantha: I was invited to a party.
Mrs.Clide: UNBELIEVABLE!
Mr.Clide: What were you thinking?!
Samantha: I wasn't thinking. I just went out for fun.
Mrs.Clide: Check your phone. Tell me, how many times did I call?
[Samantha looks at her phone.]
Samantha: Thirty times.
Mrs.Clide: I was worried sick! And you were just out fooling around! You DISGUST me!
Mr.Clide: Give me your phone, laptop, and iPod. You're super grounded.
[Samantha goes to gather her things and hands them to her dad.]
Mrs.Clide: Go to bed. I don't even want to see you. You should be ashamed.
Mr.Clide: You lied to your own mother! Looks like your summer won't be so fun anymore.
[Samantha goes to her room without a word. She slams and locks her door. She gets in bed and lay there, staring at the ceiling.]
