The Wish

I’m tired of running, I’m out of breath

I need some refreshing air

I’m tired of being alone

Silently wishing you’re here with me

I’m tired of all the pretence and facades

I’m tired of lying in my bed

Wondering what I did wrong

To make you leave

A day without you

Robs me of the air I breathe

Making me die daily

Hoping my air would someday return

I stare out into the blackness of the night

Hoping for a shooting star to appear

That I might have that one wish

I’ve been screaming in my brain

For you to come back…
