I Am Yours & You Are Mine Prologue

I was disturbed from my sleep when I heard faint noises around me. I tried to shift around my bed while I tried to open my eyes. The light beamed to my eyes, and I couldn’t see properly. The pictures or rather faces of people around my bed were still blurry. 

I tried to raise my hand to rub my eyes, but it took me all of my strength to do that. I felt so weak. My body ached like I was hit by a ten-wheeler truck again and again.

When my vision started to get clearer, I saw a girl in front of me. Her eyes were puffy and red. She looked like she cried for days. From the look on her face, she also looked like she hadn’t slept for days.

“Thank God you’re alive!” She exclaimed happily as she hugged me. I could feel that she was very careful not to hurt me.

I was really confused. I didn’t know what happened to me. I looked around the room. It wasn’t hard to realize that I was in the hospital. Almost everything around me was white- the bed sheet, the walls, my hospital gown. I was completely clueless of what had happened to me.

I moved my gaze from one person to another, and they all had the same emotion in their eyes. They were all worried. I couldn’t help but feel sad because the worried look on their face made my heart hurt. It was like I didn’t want to see them being all worried about me.

The funny part was that even my father looked all worried for me. Imagine that…

“Do you feel any pain? Are you alright? Tell me where it hurts.” she asked me worriedly.

I didn’t know how to respond to her. She looked so familiar, but I didn’t know her name. I could feel that she was someone very close to me, but how could I forget her name? I didn’t know if my mind played tricks on me or I had really met her before.

“Please answer me. I’m getting worried.” She told me as she shook my arm.

 I didn’t answer her question, but instead I asked her the question that has bugged me ever since I first saw her.

I tried to open my mouth and spoke, “Who are you?”
