They had been scavenging the sight for a while, but nothing was found, not a single trace of anything valuable.
035: I'm starting to think this was pointless.
Y/N: Same here. Head back to the car I'm gonna do one last quick sweep.
035 grabbed 049 by the shoulder and walked off with her as 035s mannequin body creaked slightly. Y/N looked in the distance to see 682 eating multiple masses of metal, it's what had happened with the hardware heads, from what Y/N could infer. The sun turned anything with an AI or animal cells into a gelatinous blob that tried to get more people infected.
Y/N hadn't paid much mind, 049 had a sample but couldn't find much with it and 682 killed them before they got near him. She was oddly protective, but Y/N didn't really notice. He walked through the buildings as he reached one of the more intact ones, he let his suit retract and took a breath of non-recycled air for a moment.
He kept walking until he heard sizzling, and then drilling. He looked to see a black patch on the ceiling that dropped a viscus black ooze, when in contact with the floor it began burning away at it, leaving a burn mark.
Y/N didn't pay much kind to that either, considering it to just be a chemical leak or something. They did destroy basically the entire base.
Y/N moved through 2 hallways and examined a sign, "Storage bay 1" is what it said and there was a handy arrow pointing in that exact direction.
The bay wasn't that special, half the room was caved in, though one item stood out on the table, partially slumped over was a teleportation node, one Y/N could use to teleport home with the girls.
Y/N ran over to it but a black swirly portal opened up underneath and it fell through. Without hesitation Y/N jumped in after it. He fell through a pit as barb wire and mud cut into and coated him. Everything seemed to be black and white. He didn't care, he just reached out towards the node, trying to grab it, but the out seemed to extend as the node got further away.
A loud thud and squelch was heard as Y/N landed inside a trench, he heard gunfire, he looked around as a soldier ran at him. One quick disarm and a twist and the soldiers neck was broken. He slumped to the ground, his mouth bubbling.
Y/N stood to the side as he watched the battle, though suddenly all the soldiers began firing at Y/N.
"Singled out"
Y/N raised 3 shields and blocked the bullets as he looked around, examining the surroundings for any indication of the voice, but nothing was notable.
Y/N pushed the shields out making a EMP shockwave which stunned the soldiers and made their weaponry stop working. Y/N flew around and killed multiple though one tackled him into a wall.
A soldier pinned Y/N up against the wall as the soldier disappeared, everything did, it was just a flat land and the wall and another figure.

She smiled and laughed slightly as she approached, more barbed wire cut into Y/N but he stood, unreacting.
Y/N: You know the buildup is meant to last quite a while right? It kinda loses the suspense if you drag it out and it just gets boring.
The figure froze up for a moment, seeming confused at the comment for a moment. She raised an eyebrow, a hint of frustration being obvious, but it almost seemed as if she was curious.
Who was this? How did he withstand that? Where is he from? Why can he do everything he does? When will he finally die?
