Nivek321 of Howrse.com, or BlueJayCanuck here on Wattpad, made the beautiful cover of this story.  Please don't take it, as she put a lot of work into it.  Thanks! :)

Oh my StarClan!  Last chapter, then the epilogue!  All credit of this chapter to Erin Hunter especially!  It is just a change in point of view of her second-to-last chapter of Bluestar's Prophecy!  So, credit to her!  Thanks! :)

Chapter Fifteen

Maybe I have been misled by StarClan.

Redtail sat beside Bluestar on the Highrock, watching the apprentices play.  His kit, Sandpaw, was with them.  Brindleface was very proud of Sandpaw, watching her from the warriors' den with a smile on her face.  Sandpaw was playing with Dustpaw, her best friend, and Graypaw.  Ravenpaw, another apprentice, was fiddling with a leaf he had found.

"I bet they call that training," he said with a laugh, flicking his tail at the playing apprentices.

Dustpaw suddenly crept up behind the oblivious Ravenpaw and leapt onto his tail.  Ravenpaw yowled and jumped in surprise.  Redtail saw Bluestar shake her head, and he knew what she was thinking.  Bluestar had given Tigerclaw the fearful apprentice, and hoped that his courage would build by being trained by the determined warrior.  He hoped the same.

"Do you remember your first moon of training?"  He asked.

Bluestar nodded beside him and gave a soft sigh, as if relishing in the memories.  Redtail remembered that so many of the old cats had gone, including his mother.  Spottedleaf had now become full medicine cat since Featherwhisker had died from greencough.

"I've led four good lives," Bluestar muttered beside him.

Redtail turned to look at her, narrowing his eyes.  "Feeling nostalgic, eh?"  He joked.

His leader sighed.  "You'll have to indulge me now that I'm old."

Redtail rolled his eyes.  They had gone through this arguement many times.  "You're not old," he insisted.

The she-cat twitched her whiskers.  "I'm not young.  Just look at the white hairs on my muzzle."

Redtail knew that Bluestar had less lives than five.  In fact, he knew that she only had two left, but he would never challenge her.  His time to become leader would arrive in it's own time.

Bluestar sighed again.

"What's troubling you?" He asked, genuinely concerned.

"I was just thinking," she replied.  "We've had so few kits born recently.  Who will keep the Clan strong and well fed through leaf-bare?  The elders' den gets fuller each season."

Redtail remembered that his old mentor, Sparrowpelt, had lost half his tail to a badger, and had taken on the name Halftail.  Because he couldn't climb trees, he had moved to the elder's den.  He spotted his sister coming from the medicine cat den, her tortoiseshell pelt glimmering in the sunlight.  She looked so worn out after caring for the cats that had come back after a battle with RiverClan over Sunningrocks.  Redtail suspected another battle would take place soon.

He smiled down at his kit and mate and knew that this was his true destiny.  Great Fox or not, he was ready to protect his Clan with all his might.

And protect it he would.

Author's Note: Aw, that was the last chapter!  Sorry for the briefness again.  Now all that's left is the epilogue!  See you all there!
