I don't know how long I walked, the rain blurring the passage of time. But eventually, I found myself standing in front of a small café, its windows glowing with warm light. I hesitated for a moment, then pushed open the door and stepped inside.

The café was warm and inviting, the smell of freshly brewed coffee mingling with the chatter of the patrons. I made my way to an empty table in the corner and sat down, feeling like a stranger in a foreign land.

As I sipped my coffee, I couldn't shake the feeling that I didn't belong there—that I was an intruder in a world I no longer understood. But then, as if sensing my despair, a voice broke through the haze.

"Are you okay?"

I looked up to see a young woman standing beside my table, her eyes filled with concern. She had long, dark hair and a warm smile that reached all the way to her eyes.

"I'm fine," I muttered, not meeting her gaze.

She didn't seem convinced. "You don't look fine," she said gently. "Is there anything I can do to help?"

I shook my head, feeling the weight of the world pressing down on me. "I don't think so," I replied, my voice barely above a whisper.

But she didn't give up. Instead, she pulled out the chair opposite me and sat down. "My name's Sarah," she said, extending her hand. "And you are?"

I hesitated for a moment, then reached out to shake her hand. "David," I said, feeling a flicker of something stir inside me.

"Well, David," Sarah said, her smile widening. "It's nice to meet you. And if you ever need someone to talk to, I'm here."

I didn't know why, but her words touched something deep inside me—a glimmer of hope in the darkness that had consumed me for so long.
