Chapter 4

Today I was late to the office because of the commotion at home in the morning

*Flashback*
As usual after working out we all sat on the breakfast and dadu announced that we were going to see the girl for my marriage..i got a Lil angry and left the table and got ready in my blue Armani suit

I was already late so i quickly went to my room and started off with my work..the day went smoothly as the meeting today went successful when Ammi's text popped up reminding me about the visit today and she also threatened me that if I don't go she'd replace me aka her fav son to zaid ik I'm childish coz I've always been mama's favourite..so i glanced at the watch it was almost time so I asked my secretary to get me a cold coffee and she had gotten it immediately and I was in a hurry since I had to go home when I bumped into someone..her head collided my chest and she shouted astagfirullah I was too stunned to speak as I turn to see that I had accidentally spilt all my coffee all over Zara..she was about to leave when i stopped her and asked sorry..i did get alot of stare coz which boss apologizes to a mere employee..well ammi thought me that when you do something whether it was your mistake or not say sorry coz it makes you a great person and I still follow it up to date. She said it was alright and had left I also hurried and left home to change the stained clothes I entered and saw everyone ready I said I would join them later but ammi wasn't agreeing she said she wouldn't go if i didn't so i said ill come with her but enter the house a little while later coz I had an important call to attend during the time..dadu and nanu gave me a few looks but I put on my best smile and they agreed finally...fast forward I was in the meeting it was about to end when a text from zaid popped up telling
Bhai my future bhabhi is looking pretty and i think ammi abbu dadu and dadi like her and zohra is in love with her
I laughed a little and decided to enter when someone left the room..i had to come to know that it was Zara whom my parents were asking me to see.little did they know well except ammi that she was the first one to make my heart feel warm...i thanked Allah and we all had dinner and uncle(zara's dad) was Askin me alot of work related questions and I was able to answer them later we had returned home when I was about to go to my room ammi called me to her room and had me lay on her lap and said:
Beta I like Zara very much she's good and I think she'll complete your deen and I see my daughter in her so I am hoping for a positive answer from you but no forcing..I smiled but didn't say anything and retired to my room and took a shower and decided to pray istaqarah and slept.

I woke up to a good dream. It was fajar time when I was reading the Qur'an abbu entered my room and asked me about Zara. I said yes..abbu hugged me and he went to share this news with mom. Dadu and dadi entered the room and gave me a kiss on the forehead and zohra hugged me i felt warm and happy..Ammi called Zara's parents to inform about the proposal and I wanted to talk to Zara about this so as usual after the routine I went to the office.ammi wanted to go along with me to drop flowers for zara and meet her but Zara wasn't present there so ammi had to leave later i entered my room and after finishing a few pending works I had from yesterday I had asked Zara to come to my room with a few files after she placed the files on my table she was about to leave when i spoke asking her sorry about the coffee incident yesterday and about the sudden proposal and saying yes to it..i assured her that it was all her choice if she wants she could reject me as well but if she says yes I'll treat her better than how I treat myself..I never knew I could speak so much I am usually a quiet person but idk how towards her i feel open..she didn't say anything and left the room I went home and cleared my thoughts as I felt uneasy as I hadn't gotten any reply from her so i lay my prayer mat and asked my rabb for help..I felt much peaceful and calm and it was soon Isha time I prayed had dinner and when we were about to leave..ammi said there wasn't any reply from Zara's family i didn't say anything but my thoughts spoke maybe Allah has better plans for me.

I felt hurt somewhere deep down but was slowly overcome by sleep and other thoughts i woke up to fajar prayer and prayed my prayer and was on my way to go for the gym when I saw everyone gathered in the hall and when they saw me they all rushed to hug me I was too shocked to process what was happening here when ammi said Zara said yes to the proposal. I smiled and dadi pulled me into a tight hug and said: my son you've grown a lot I can't believe he's getting married..I still see my little grandson who used to fight for chocolate is now getting married..zohra and zaid pulled me into the sibling hug and abbu gave me a laddoo.
I quickly returned to my room and thanked my rabb for everything he's bestowed upon me and that He's the most merciful.
