Melinda had woken up from her dream and got dressed in blue bra, panties and blue jeans, and a purple shirt with brown like heel boots. She did her hair and makeup like always. But this time, she thought about Jim. Not knowing that he was thinking about her that morning as well. Jim didn't know why he couldn't get her off his mind all of sudden and why he had a dream of her last night either. He knew they couldn't be together because she was a student. That morning when he saw her in her car again. He knew that something was up at home. She wouldn't be so early every morning like this. He once again offered her to come inside with him and use his room to study. Melinda did, and still then, she couldn't stop thinking about yesterday, and neither could he. She didn't understand what was going on and why it seemed like something was about to happen with them. They both had that feeling that something was. But they both ignored it. Melinda had packed up and went to meet her friends. But before she could, Mr. Clancy asked her if she was sure that everything was okay. It has been three days in a row that she had been to school early to study. No one likes to study that much. Melinda laughed and told him that she did. She loved school and wanted to do good because she wanted to own her own business one day. She has to have good grades to get into the best college that she can. Mr. Clancy told her well good for her, and that is the spirit to have when it comes to going after her dreams. Melinda smiled at him and left. She couldn't help but think about what was going on. That is what someone supportive would say. Is it possible that just maybe he could be the one. Melinda shook it off no, he can't be. Jim couldn't understand why he said that the way that he did. He meant it as a teacher way to in courage a student, but it didn't come out that way at all. Jim knew then that he might be falling for Melinda and tried as hard as he could not to. Melinda was fighting just as hard as not to fall for Jim. They both knew that it was not a good idea since he was a teacher. Melinda had kept that to herself that she was falling for her teacher. Jim had never told his friends, Tim, Bobbie, Freddie, and Will. Neither of them wanted anyone to know that they were falling for each other. Melinda had told her friends that the last three days she has been coming to school early, to study in Mr. Clancy room because he has been offering her too. The reason that she has been coming to school early to study is because she wanted to avoid her mom right now. Her parents' divorce had gone final. They hugged her and told her that they were sorry to hear that. Melinda told them thank you that she is glad that she has them. They told her that she is welcome. She is their best friend and that they are always gonna be there for her no matter what. That is what best friends are for. Andrea asked her how her and her mom were getting along since it all happened. Melinda told her I didn't know I had not been able to even look her. Andrea and Delia agreed that she should at least try to talk to her mom about it all. Melinda told them that she would try, that she knows her parents used to argue about the fact that she was a medium and that, and that her grandmother was teaching her about it. Now she was on her with that. Andrea and Delia even agreed that they would help her the best they could on that as well. Melinda told them that they were the bestest friends anyone could ask for. They smiled at her. When the bell rang, they went on with their school like the talk never happened at all. Melinda had gotten all her grades up from C's back to the A's that she had. When she had gotten home, she went to look up something to wait until her mom came home to talk to her about what was going on and why the divorce happened and about what she was. When she was in the middle of her research, her computer crashed. Melinda said shit. Just at that moment, Beth came in and said, "Excuse me, young lady." She told her mom that she was sorry that her laptop had just crashed during research. Beth told her that she would get her one as soon as she could. They talked some about things, but it ended up in an argument. Melinda went in her and locked her door. Melinda only hoped that she didn't have to do anything for school due to the fact that she didn't have anything to use. Melinda had gone to bed thinking about Jim and dreaming about him. While he did the same thing about her. Before he did go to bed, things started to blow around. He blamed it on the wind since he had the window open. Jim shut the window and ignored it all. He didn't stop to think that, just maybe it was Dan. Giving him any signs like he had told him that he would one day. The next morning, Melinda woke up to shower and get dressed and went to school and studied in her car. Jim had seen her and knocked on the window. Melinda had rolled it down and said "hey Mr. Clancy, what is up? " He had asked if she had wanted to go in and study. Melinda had packed up and went inside to study. Jim had unlocked the classroom and had let her go in first. Melinda went in and sat at the desk and took everything out to use it to study. Jim had asked if she needed any help with anything. Melinda told him no, that she was good. Thank you, though. Jim told her that she was welcome anytime. Melinda had started to pack up and went to go and hang out with Delia, Andrea, and Charlie. They all would sit there and study together and just chill. Andrea had asked if she was okay. Melinda told them about what happened with her mom and that she left once again to come and study here before opening. Mr. Clancy had offered to study in his room. He seemed to be sweet on that and asked me if I needed his help on anything at all. I told him no thank you, though. Charlie tells her that it sounds like she has a crush on him. Melinda slaps him, and he pretends it hurts. Melinda told her please that didn't hurt at all." Stop being a wussy." Charlie had laughed about it. Delia had mentioned that he is a teacher, that it is his job to try and help us. Andrea smirked she had that funny feeling that just maybe she did. But I don't want to say anything to anyone because of the fact that he is a teacher and one of theirs. Jim had sat there thinking about Dan and what he said. About the possibility of meeting a ghost whisper. Not knowing that the real name for them was a medium. Wondered what was up with the stuff last night in his house. He couldn't figure out what was going on with that. At all, and he for one didn't specifically believe in ghosts or spirits or anything of the supernatural. He didn't think that they really existed. So he doubted that it could possibly be his brother trying to send any type of messages. As the day went by and it was time for math class for the end of the day. Melinda and Jim smiled at each other. It seemed like that would be a habit now for them. Andrea whispered to her, "You sure that nothing is going on with her and Mr. Clancy. Melinda told her what no. He just lets me use the room for studying, that is all. I am not the only girl who has a crush on him. Just about every girl in this class does. Who would blame them he is hot. Melinda covered her mouth and made Andrea laugh at that. Delia looked shocked and whispered, "Did you just admit you think that Mr. Clancy is hot. Melinda told her to shut up. Went up to hand in her work. Right after, so did Andrea and Delia. Jim had told them thank you, ladies. The rest of the period is yours. When the others were done, help me with telling them the same thing. That was one of the things that everyone liked about Jim, that he let them do anything that they wanted if their work was done. They hoped that he would stay their teacher permanently and that they never get back Mr. Bouche. When the class was over, they all went their separate ways to go home. Melinda had gone to the park to avoid going home she didn't want to deal with her mom. While she was there she saw a ghost of a little girl that just disappeared, she wondered what was going on. Why she didn't go to her for help like all the others do. That was something she couldn't figure out. Melinda then decided to go home. Beth wasn't home. Which was not a surprise to Melinda. She was use to that part now. When Melinda went to bed that night, she saw her grandmother. Who told her that she would soon be with the one. The one would accept her for her. Melinda didn't know what she meant. Also, that night, when Jim went to bed. His brothers picture fell. He couldn't figure out what was going on, with all that lately. But he knew it was something. He just couldn't figure it out. The next morning, they both got up to do their normal routine and thinking about each other. Not knowing why they couldn't get the other off their minds lately. They both knew it was not possible as long as he was a teacher. But they couldn't help it. Neither of them knew they liked the other. When it came to school, Jim once again found Melinda studying in her car. He invited her in to study in the classroom. Jim had asked once more if everything was okay. That it was becoming a habit with her studying in her car. Melinda told him that everything was not okay. She told him everything that was going on. Jim told her he was sorry for her loss and that her mom and her fighting now. Melinda told him thanks. That she better go f8nd her friends. Jim told her anytime that she wanted to talk that he was there for her. He lost his dad and brother, so he knows what she is going through. Melinda smiled and went to meet her friends. That whole morning, she couldn't help but smile. She never said why. That was something that she didn't want anyone to know just yet. Was she really falling for him. Could he be falling for her as well. Melinda just didn't know. And neither did Jim. They both went through the day thinking about each other. And couldn't get the other off their minds. When Melinda's English teacher told them that she wanted the class to write about who inspires them most. The person could be anyone no matter who. Melina knew she was gonna write about her grandmother because Mary Ann always did inspire Melinda on everything. Her only issue was how she was gonna write the paper. When her laptop broke. Her mom still hasn't helped her fix it.
