"A suitcase packed to the brim of your own clothes, and you still insist on wearing mine?"

Alexis's laugh reaches your ears even above the crashing of waves on the beachfront below your hotel room, her shadow dancing across the expanse of your lived-in room in the afternoon sunlight as she continues dressing - still favoring your clothes, over her own.

"I can't remember that ever bothering you before." She says into the mirror as she buttons up her - your - shirt, in a falsely placating tone that's immediately betrayed by the pleased smile playing on her lips that shows when she turns and crosses the room to perch on the bed right next to you. "Admit it, you were just hoping I'd be living in sundresses all week."

You give little more than a noncommittal hum in reply as you thumb idly through another glossy activity brochure, but she sees right through it as she leans in to speak against your ear with a knowing smile. "Oh, cheer up- I might just throw you a bone yet."
