“Mai jaane se pehle Ruhaan ki shadi Aaruhi se hote hue dekhna chahta hu”
(“Before I leave, I want to witness Ruhaan marrying Aaruhi”)

As the words escaped his lips, they left each of us in shock, and it felt like the world slipped from beneath my feet.

“Yeh kya keh rhe hai aap? Ruhaan aur Aaruhi abhi bohot chhote hain,” Sumita aunty said, “Ruhaan ki abhi shadi ki umar nhi hui hai Dad” Vikrant uncle added.
(“What are you saying? Ruhaan and Aaruhi are still very young”) (“Ruhaan isn't of marriageable age yet, Dad”)

“Yeh meri aakhri khwaish hai or tumlogo ne kaha tha meri aakhri khwaish puri karoge. Mai marne se pehle apne Ruhaan ki shadi dekhna chahta hu” Dadu said.
("This is my last wish, and you all promised to fulfill my last wish. I want to see Ruhaan's wedding before I die,")

“Sorry par mai apki ye wish puri nhi kar sakta mere bhi kuch sapne hai” Ruhaan said and rushed out of the room with an emotional face.
("I'm sorry, but I can't fulfill this wish; I have dreams of my own,")

My father grasped my wrist firmly and said before pulling me out of the room, “Humara bhi yehi jawab hai abhi Aaruhi bohot chhoti hai hum uski shadi nhi karwa sakte, chal Aaruhi”
("Our answer is the same. Aaruhi is still very young; we cannot arrange her marriage. Let's go, Aaruhi.”)

“Batao yeh bhi koi baat hoti hai aise kaise shadi kara dein abhi meri beti ki umr hi kitni hai” Dad said sitting on the couch, almost shouting.
("Is this even a matter to discuss? How can we arrange a marriage like this when my daughter is still so young?”)

“Woh mujhse bohot bade hai toh umr ka lihaz karke kuch nhi kaha maine warna mujhe toh bohot gussa aa rha tha” Mom replied.
("He is much older than me, so I didn't say anything considering his age. Otherwise, I was very angry,")

“It's okay mumma woh apne grandchild ki shadi dekhna chahte hai usme kya burai hai woh toh unki khwaish haina lekin marzi toh humari na hai ke hume unki khwaish puri karni hai ya nahi” I said patting my mom's shoulder.
("It's okay, Mom. They want to see their grandchild's wedding; there's nothing wrong with that. But it's our decision whether we want to fulfill their wish or not,”)

“Chacha ji ke taraf se main maafi mangti hu agar aaplogo ko bura laga” Juhi aunty came forward and said.
("I apologize on behalf of Uncle if you were offended by his words,")

“Nahi Juhi tumhari or unki galti nhi hai par woh aisa faisla kisi se bina pucho or inki marzi ke bina nhi le sakte na ek baar discuss toh kar lete” Dad said.
("No, Juhi, it's not your or their fault, but they can't make such a decision without consulting anyone or without their consent. They should have discussed it at least once,")

I turned around to see Nitesh chachu descending the stairs, followed by Mitali chachi. He walked over and positioned himself in the living area, asking, "What's wrong, Varshali bhabhi? Why are you and Rajesh so angry?"

Mitali aunty joined my mom, sitting beside her, and remarked in a taunting manner, "You went to Mehra Mansion, didn't you? Has something happened there? No wonder we prefer not to go anywhere.”

“Chirag bhai sahab ki aakhri khwahish hai ke woh Ruhaan ki shadi Aaruhi ke sath hote hue dekhna chahte hai, ab aap hi bataye Aaruhi itni chhoti hai uski shadi kaise kar de hum” Dad replied massaging his temple.
