After wandering around lost following Laezel's completely wrong map directions we finally find the big building with a small plaque reading The Devil's Fee. We head through the front doors to a room full of display cases filled with interesting looking items such as horns and skulls.
"Holly shit this is definitely the right place those are real devil skulls." Karlach says looking around in awe trying to tally up how many different types of devils were on display.
We head up to the front desk where a short black woman was standing awaiting customers.
"Welcome to the devil's fee home to every curio.... Oh it's you." She says looking at me with eyes full of fear and curiosity
"Your servant left this the last time you were here." She tells me as she hands me a small fedora that my murderous butler used to wear and I throw it into my pack.
"Um yes. Hi. My memory is a bit shit do I know you?" I ask her silently cursing Orin for what she did to me
"I find it hard to believe that you forgot what we did. I am happy to remind you but I will need something in return." She says looking at me confused
"Alright what do you want?" I ask
"It is not what I want but what my god wants. Mammon the god of coin would like a donation in return I will give you information." She says holding her hand out
"Why was I here last?" I ask handing over a bog of 100 gold coins
"To have me open a portal into the hells." She says pocketing the gold
"A portal to where?" I demand
"Oh my memory is so fuzzy without gold." She says
I sigh and hand over another 100 gold
"Lord Mammon thanks you. It was a trip to the House of Hope. To steal the Crown of Karsus" She says
"Can you get us back there?" I ask
She doesn't say anything just holds out her hand until I put more gold in it
"I can for a price of 20,000 gold." She says
"How about instead I get you something from Raphael's private collection." I tell her not wanting to pay the outrageous amount
"You put me in a difficult position mortal you are almost certain to fail. Almost and yet. There are Gauntlets of Hill Giant Strength in his collection get them for me and we will call it even." She says
"Deal." I tell her
"Wonderful. Take this and distribute the items along the pentagram upstairs in the pattern outlined by the book there and don't ask me where the blood came from to draw it." She says handing me a pouch of items and a key to the upstairs door.
I take the pouch and put it in my pocket and head upstairs with the rest of my group close behind. We walk up the stairs and through the door to find a pentagram of blood drawn on the floor. I place the intel's according to the instructions and a giant flaming portal to the House of Hope opens up before me and we all stare at it readying ourselves for the battle ahead.
"What are you doing. You were wise to reject the devils offer but it is not worth provoking him by going into the hells uninvited." The Emperor, my mind flayer, guardian, bossy companion echoes in my mind.
"I need that hammer and Orpheus needs to be freed." I respond back before trying to throw a mental wall up to block him out
"You are being foolish we need his protection and he would kill you on sight if you let him out." He responds prying into my mind
