Forever

The centuries old looking building stood high and mighty looming over me as I stood, slightly shivering, in front of it on the rough surface. The rusty door contained a heavy knocker draped in silky cob webs constructed by a nefarious but miniature creature.

Looming trees shadowed and scrutinised my every move while the statues, potentially guarding the dead, had been piercing its gaze into my terrified soul under the fog as it rolled across the cemetery. Tomb stones blanketed the ground, rippling away while still being strong enough to withstand the relentless wind.

It wasn't always like this...

I knew they were in a better place when I received a call informing me that my parents have passed away while I was on holiday. Now, I sit on the glistening grass as the sun shone from above attempting to lighten up my mood as I talked about my day to them.

"I miss you guys." I whispered as I stared at the ground guilty eating me up as I haven't visited in the past 10 years trying to live my life to the fullest before my time comes.

But now I'm here, aren't I?

Just this time forever.
