Chapter twelve

Brian: okay so this is a picture of Dani when she was a baby few days after me and her mother had her, a picture of me and her relaxing after a long day at the park, and a picture of her and her boyfriend

Mia: oh my god she looked so adorable
Brian: I know, she looks like her mother and has my personality
Mia: how old you were guys when you had her
Brian: we were pretty young back then, we were both 15 years old when we had her
Mia: what was her name
Brian: Adeline...her name was Adeline
Mia: it must have been hard, having a baby that young
Brian: yeah it was
Mia: so Dani has a boyfriend
Brian: * sighs softly * had a boyfriend
Mia: what do you mean
Brian: a few months ago Nate asked me if it's okay for him to take Dani on a road trip with some friends to celebrate her 16th birthday and of course I said yes because I liked that kid, but then on their way there was a truck behind them and crashed into them...she was the only one who survived but there was something wrong
Mia: what was it
Brian: she hit her head so hard that she was in a coma then a few weeks later she woke up and uh—
Mia: Brian...tell me what happened when Dani woke up
Brian: she only remembered that it was Fenix who crashed into them but there was another person that she couldn't remember who it was
Mia: oh my god
Brian: every week at night she would go to the cemetery to visit his grave, she blames herself for what happened that day...now Dani is going through the same road as I did when I lost her mother when she was only two years old and they took her away from me after I went to Juvie for boosting cars
Mia: but at least you got her back
Brian: * looks over at Dani * yeah I did
Dani: * staring through the window while listening to music *
Brian: you asked me why I let Dom go, I think it's because at that moment, I respected him more than I did myself ever since Dani was taken away from me
Mia: * keeps her eyes on Brian *
Brian: * looks down and nods softly * yeah, one thing I learned from Dom is that nothing really matters unless you have a code
Mia: and what's your code, Brian
Brian: * looks at her * I'm working on it
Mia: * smile's a little *
Brian: * brings his phone out of his pocket and see's Letty appear on his screen *
Mia: what is it
Dani: * see's Brian expression and takes off her headphones * dad are you okay
Dom: * rushes towards them *
Brian, Dani & Mia: * turns their heads to him *
Brian: oh shit
Mia & Dani: * stands up *
Dani: Dom, what's going on
Dom: when were you gonna tell me
Brian: * stands up *
Mia: Dom, what are you doing
Dom: when were you gonna tell me you were running Letty
Dani: * gets worried *
Brian: let me explain—
Dom: * grabs his shirt and throws him to a nearby shelf * when were you gonna—
Dani: DADDY!!!
Mia: DOM STOP!!!
Brian: you don't understand
Dom: * picks him up off the ground and wraps his hand around his throat as he pinned him over the table * I don't understand
Brian: * tries to push him off of him *
Dani: * starts crying uncontrollably * DADDY!!!
Mia: DOM PLEASE STOP IT STOP, YOU'RE FREAKING DANI OUT!!!please stop
Dom: * sends Brian flying towards the ground *
Brian: * hits his head on the shelf *
Dani: * pulls out the knife in her pocket and switch the blade out *
Brian: she did it for—
Dom: * starts punching him *
Brian: * wraps his arms around his neck cutting away his air *
Dom: * gets up with Brian still wrapped around his neck and slams him down to the ground *
Brian: * grunts in pain *
Dani: CUT IT OUT!!!
Brian: she did it for you Dom, she did it for you
Dani: * gasping tearfully *
Mia: * hugs her for comfort * shhh it's okay
Brian: * whips his nose * Letty came to me to clear your name in exchanged to bringing down Braga, she just wanted you to come home
Dani: * puts the blade back but still holding the knife *
Dom: * see's Dani holding the knife and
walks away *
Brian: * kicks a box * GOD I'M SORRY DOM, I'M SORRY!!!
Dani: * voice quivering * dad
Brian: * rushes towards her * Dani
Dani: * hugs him tightly and cries even more *
Brian: shhhh it's okay baby girl...I'm okay
