Twelve

Megan POV

Megan scrolled through her phone, re-reading the messages that Ashley had sent her. She couldn't help but smile at the memories of their past relationship. But her smile soon faded as she remembered how Ashley had left her heartbroken when she turned her down.

It was a typical Saturday night, and Megan was feeling down. She had been trying to move on from Ashley, but it wasn't easy. Her phone buzzed and she saw a message from Alexis, her new basketball teammate.

'Hey Meg, wanna hit up the club tonight, with a few team mates?'

Megan hesitated for a moment. She wasn't really in the mood to go out, but she also didn't want to spend another night moping around her dorm room. She replied, 'Sure, I could use a night out.'

Alexis picked her up and they made their way to the club. As soon as they entered, the loud music and flashing lights enveloped them. They made their way over to the bar and ordered a round of shots and a round of drinks.

But as the night went on, Megan couldn't shake off the reminder of Ashley. She excused herself and went to the bathroom to get some fresh air. As she was washing her face, a girl came up to her and started chatting.

'Hey, you're Megan right? I'm Ashley's friend Lindsey,' the girl said.

'Oh hey, I knew you looked familiar,' Megan responded.

'I know you guys haven't talked but she misses you and she is here tonight as well' Lindsey said, fixing her lips in the mirror.

'Oh okay, tell her I said hey' Megan said.

'Or you can tell her yourself, we will be in a corner by the bar if you decide to come over' Lindesy said as she walked out the bathroom.

As she made her way back to the dance floor, she couldn't stop thinking about Ashley. Just then, Alexis grabbed her hand and pulled her back into the crowd, dancing and laughing with her. Megan caught a glimpse of Ashley and her friends dancing by the bar. She tried to ignore them and focus on having a good time with Alexis.

But as the night went on and the drinks continued to flow, Megan found herself getting closer and closer to Ashley. Before she knew it, they were dancing together, their bodies moving in sync just like old times.

Ashley leaned in close and whispered in Megan's ear. 'Meet me in the bathroom in two minutes,' she said, before disappearing into the crowd. Megan's heart raced with anticipation and confusion as she made her way through the crowded club and into the bathroom.

She found Ashley leaning against the sink, her dark hair cascading over her shoulders. 'I miss you,' she said, her voice thick with emotion. 'I know I shouldn't have ended things with you. I was just afraid of what people would say if they found out about us.'

'I get it,' Megan said as she looked away.

When Megan turned back, she was met with a seductive smile from Ashley. They both knew what was about to happen, but they couldn't resist the temptation. Ashley grabbed her and pulled her into a passionate kiss. Their hands roamed each other's body as Megan picked Ashley up and put her back against the wall.

Before things could escalate, the door swung open and Alexis walked in. 'Sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt,' she said, a hint of hurt in her voice.

Ashley grabbed Megan "Listen," Ashley said, her voice serious. "I saw Alexis face and I know she's your new teammate. You should go and see her, make sure she's okay. I'll meet you at your place."

Megan quickly made her way out of the bathroom and found Alexis sitting alone at their table.

'Hey, what's wrong?' Megan asked, sitting down next to her.

Alexis looked at her and said, 'I saw you kissing your professor'.

'Listen we met before school started and we broke it off once we found out, tonight was just a moment with alcohol involved' Megan tried to explain.

'Hey i understand your secret's safe with me, it was kinda hot seeing you guys' Alexis laughed. ' just promise you will be careful for both of you guys sake'

'I promise' Megan said. 'You ready to go?'

'Yea let's head out, i appreciate you coming to make sure i was okay' Alexis said.

'Of course' Megan responded.

As they parked in front of Megan's house, she turned to Alexis with a smile. 'Thanks for tonight, Lex. I had a blast.'

'Any time, Megan. You deserve it' Alexis replied, returning her smile.

Megan stepped out of the car and waved goodbye as Alexis drove away. She walked up to her front door, already feeling the effects of the alcohol she had consumed earlier in the night. But as she approached her door, she noticed something that sobered her up in an instant.

Ashley was standing on her doorstep, a small smile on her face.

'Hi,' Megan said, trying to keep her voice steady.

'Hi,' Ashley replied, stepping closer to her. 'I've been waiting for you to get here.' she said with a slur. Megan could see that Ashley was feeling the effects of the alcohol just as she was.

Megan's heart was racing as Ashley reached out to touch her face, her touch sparking familiar feelings within Megan. She hesitated for a moment before leaning in, her lips meeting Ashley's in a soft and desperate kiss.

'I miss you, Megan,' she said, reaching for Megan's hand. 'I know I messed up and I regret it every day.' Ashley leaned in and placed soft kisses on Megan's lips.

'I love you,' Ashley said, in between kisses.

Megan was taken aback, but instead of feeling uncomfortable, she felt a warmth in her heart she had never felt before. She grabbed Ashley and pushed her against the door and kissed her hard. It was a passionate kiss that expressed their feelings for each other in ways words could never.

Ashley moaned into Megan's mouth as her hands made their way to Megans pants. Megan broke the kiss to unlock the door while Ashley continued to unbuckle her belt. The two of them stumbled into Megan's apartment, their lips never leaving each other's as they made their way to the bedroom.
