I don't think I'll ever walk away
Even though by now I should run:
you shot me twice yet I still let you hold my gun.
You see, I know my self-worth
and how I deserve to be actually adored,
not "almost" not "partially", I am not to be ignored.
But it hurts.
Maybe I saw you as much more than my ultimate lover.
I saw you like a friend, somebody I cared about, and now you're just like every other.
And it angers me that in you I saw much more than I can see in myself,
much more than anyone could ever expect me to see in you
but I know with time this grief will fade, and one day somebody will write poetry about the writer, too.
