"Huh, a walk?" Arien repeated the question Haejin asked her.

Haejin crouched down to meet Arien on her eye-level and gave her a small smile.

"His Majesty has given his permission. He has allowed Your Highnesses to freely take a walk in the garden, and that only four servants are to escort you from a distance during that time."

'Did he actually hear..?'

She questioned in her head as she remembered a conversation she had with Arjen yesterday after lunch, about feeling bored from being stuck inside all day and having nothing to do.

Arien remembered the exact side-eye she gave Sora. She could easily take them out, but was apparently, in her words; 'too lazy' to do so, and was prompted to stay indoors, inside doing god-knows-what in the room she had claimed a while back.

Arien swore she heard manic cackles and blood curdling screams.

Sora had told her to just leave, saying it as if Arien wasn't fearing what would happen if she disobeyed The Emperor's rules. She didn't have the courage or the apathetic, carefree nature Sora carried herself with.

Sora tilted her head slightly upwards to the side, gazing up at Arjen who stood behind her as some human wall for her to lean against.

"She kinda looks like a pompous brat, doesn't she?" Sora said as she watched the maids tend to Arien, fixing the slightest bit of imperfection on her dress.

Arjen shrugged.

Arien seemed to be doing a little dance with each step she took, chirping a flowery tune as she skipped from one flower bush to another. Arjen chuckled, finding the situation slightly amusing. Sora's eye twitched and her face contorted into a deeper scowl the longer she walked.

Arjen stole a quick glance at Sora, the gentle rays of sunlight brought out her pleasant expression and the smile on his face grew.

"Is it that bad?"

"Yes," Sora said blatantly, her grip tightening around Arjen's hand. "Why couldn't I have stayed in the room?"

Arjen let out a soft hum, his gaze drifting upwards to the expanse of the clear blue sky and the radiant sun shining down upon them. He raised an arm to shield his eyes from the sun's intense brightness.

As his eyes returned to Sora, a wide, beaming smile graced his face. "It's a nice day to be outside, isn't it?"

Sora knew that the sun was behind her, evident by the warmth of the sun on her back, but she could be fooled by her brother's radiant presence casting a glow that could easily captivate anyone, as if she was staring at the sun itself.

The corner of her mouth twitched in some form of a smile. "I guess."

"Come onnn!" Arien called out with a twirl of her dress." You guys are so slow—oof!"

Her sentence was interrupted by a gentle tug on her wrist, drawing her back into the embrace of the one who pulled her.

"S-sora..?"

Sora steadied Arien by holding her by the shoulders before smoothing down her dress.

"Careful, Arien. We don't want to dirty your clothes now, do we?" Sora quipped, her voice carried an obvious tone of distaste.

"Of course, wise words Your Imperial Highness!"

Arien turned away from Sora's grasp and looked up to see the face of an unknown man. She awkwardly avoided his eyes, feeling uneasy when she got the slightest glimpse, when her gaze settled on a necklace adorning the man's neck, capturing her attention.
