Ruhana has grown up very protective of her younger sister, Anamika, and the equation is vice-versa. Anamika is the one who often answers in place of her sister, while Ruhana protects her sister and also shows her right and wrong. That’s how the sister’s bond is.

Ruhana and Anamika share an emotional moment with each other where the former suspects something has happened in her absence. But her parents tell her otherwise. Maybe the latter felt lonely, and that is why she asked her some questions.

While Neil tries to comfort his firstborn, his younger daughter comes to them and clings to her sister’s shoulder.

“Di, aap mujhe leke itna pareshan mat hua karo. Kuch nahi hua hai, kisi ne kuch nahi kaha. Maine yunhi aapse puch liya. Aur vaise bhi jab aap log mere sath ho, toh bhala mujhe kuch ho sakta hai kya?”

“Aur waise bhi, main toh aapko aur mumma-papa ko chhod ke kahin nahi jaa rahi. Aur abse aapki har trip pe aapke sath jaungi. Vo add aata hai na..fevicol ka…”Fevicol ka jod hai, nai tootega.” Aisi hi hoon main. Fevicol ki tarah chipak gai , chhoot nai sakti.”

“Aur aapke pati ko dahej mein main hi milungi, pehle hi bol dena unse.” Anamika says this as the other three glance at her.

“Pati? Tu kahan pahuch gai , Ana?  Kuch bhi bol rahi hai

“Pati? Tu kahan pahuch gai , Ana?  Kuch bhi bol rahi hai.” Ruhana scolds her playfully but Anamika grips her hands around her waist tightly.

“Main sach keh rahi hun, Di. Aur aapko abhi se bata rahi hoon, Aapka bharosa nai hai mujhe.” Anamika glances at Ruhana.

“Hawww! Ye kaunsi baat hui, Ana? Tujhe bharosa nai hai na, jaa , mujhe terese baat bhi nahi karni aur movie bhi nahi dekhni

“Hawww! Ye kaunsi baat hui, Ana? Tujhe bharosa nai hai na, jaa , mujhe terese baat bhi nahi karni aur movie bhi nahi dekhni. “ Ruhana pretends to be angry and frees herself from the hug.

“Arey Di….”Anamika tries to talk but Ruhana shushes her.

“Nahi, mujhe kuch nahi sunna! Dekha aapne, ye mujhe aise hi satati hai, huh.” Ruhana looks at her parents who are smiling lightly.

“Main mazaak kar rahi hoon, Didu. Main akeli kaise rahungi? Aaap apni Ana ko akele chhod dogi?” Anamika makes most innocent face.

“Han, kyunki tujhe toh mere pe bharosa hai nahi naa! Tu akele reh.” Ruhana scoffs.

“Arey, aap par nahi toh kispe karungi gussa! Aapse baat kiye bina main kaise reh sakti hoon? Shorry

“Arey, aap par nahi toh kispe karungi gussa! Aapse baat kiye bina main kaise reh sakti hoon? Shorry.” Anamika says.

“Dekho aap gussa karogi toh main kidhar jaungi? Aur aapko pata hai chhoti behen pe gussa nahi karna chahiye.” She says, causing her sister to smile.

“Han han, tujhse toh baaton mein main nahi jeet sakti.” Ruhana sighs, pulling Anamika in a warm hug.

Their parents are looking at them with a smile and their father pulls them in a hug. He silently blesses them and wishes for their bond to remain intact. Ragini clicked a few pictures of the father and daughters and then the girls took turns to click the pictures. It’s surely a happy day.

It’s another fine day in the Gupta Household. Neil is getting ready for his office. Ragini is preparing breakfast in the kitchen. The house is quiet since the girls are still sleeping. Neil enters the kitchen, asking about his daughters. Ragini smiles.

“Neil, aap phir se bhool gaye? Anamika apne friends ke sath Lonavala gayi hai aur Ruhana so rahi thi

“Neil, aap phir se bhool gaye? Anamika apne friends ke sath Lonavala gayi hai aur Ruhana so rahi thi. Derr raat tak kuch kaam kar rahi thi.” Ragini informs.

“Arey, yaad hi nahi raha. Main Ruhana ko dekh ke aata hoon.” Neil says and moves into his daughter’s room.

He finds that the room door is slightly ajar. He enters the room and finds Ruhana fast asleep. He sits beside her on the bed and takes a close look at her. It’s not that he hasn’t seen her earlier, but he takes his own time in adoring his daughter. She’s all grown up after all.

5 years have passed

5 years have passed. Ruhana is twenty-two years old while Anamika is twenty years old. Ruhana is in her final year of graduation and is working on a project. Neil watches her and places a small kiss on her head before leaving the room. As he walks out, Ragini is smiling at him.

“Dekh liya achche se? Sab thik hai?” She asks her husband.

“Haan, waqt guzarte pata kahan chalta hai, Ragini. Ruhana aur Anamika dono badi ho gayi hain. Lekin….” Neil pauses while looking at his wife.

“Neil, jaisa aap soch rahe hain, waisa nahi hoga. Vishwas rakhiye.” Ragini tries to convince her husband.

Neil nods and in the meantime, they hear their daughter, Ruhana, who says something that leaves them touched and thoughtful.

To Be Continued.

What is Neil thinking?

Stay tuned.
