𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐈𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬↯

𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫

Standing on the rooftop, the people around me are loud and are having fun.
I smile, soon is 2023 over and a new year begins.

"Y/n do you want something to drink?" my mom asks a little loud, music playing in the back.
"Yeah, an apple juice please." I answer with a smile, turning towards her.
She smiles at me and nods.
She walks to the drinks and I look around taking a deep breath.
It isn't very cold because of the body heat from the other people and the small fire place in the middle of the roof.

As I look around, some eyes are catching mine.
Its Miles.
Neither of us looks away.
My heart is beating fast and I try to hide my smile.
His skin looks flawless in the orange light of the fire place and his eyes are glowing.

"Here, darling." my mom says.
I jump and look away, how embarrassing.
"Thank you mom." I say while smiling at her.
She gives me a small side hug and looks forward.
I look in Miles direction again and he's already looking at me.
We make eye contact again and now he starts to smile.
I smile back and feel my cheeks heading up.

"Hey guys!" I hear someone shout.
"Hey Rio!" I hear my mom shout.
I turn towards her and smile at her and my moms hug.
"Hey Y/n!" she says while giving me a hug.
"Hey mrs. Morales." I say while hugging her back, smiling at my mom over the shoulder.
"Call me Rio dear." she says with a smile on her face.
I nod smiling back at her.
"And, do you guys have fun?" she asks with a grin.
"Yes, it's very exciting." My mom answers with a smile.
"Y/n, have you talked to Miles already?" Rio ask me.
"No." I answer shy, smiling a little.
"Oh, Miles! Miles!" she shouts towards him while waving.
My eyes widen a little and he walks to us.

As he arrives, we smile at each other and he looks at his mom.
"Hey mom, what's up?" he asks.
"I thought you and Y/n could talk a little bit." she says as she smiles.
"Yeah, of course." he says while looking at me.
I smile at him.
"Great, we will be at the buffet." she says while smiling at my mom.
"Bye mom." I say and both walk away.

"Do you want something to drink?" I ask him while turning to him, killing the awkwardness.
"No, thank you." he answers, smiling down at me.
I nod and smile.
"Are you excited for new years?" I ask.
"Yeah, you?" he asks back.
"Yes." I answer while smiling.
Fade into you by Mazzy Star starts playing and I sigh.
"Is everything okay?" he asks.
"Yes, I just like that song." I say with a small laugh.
"Oh okay." he says, laughing too.
We stare at each other and smile, my hair waves in the calm wind.

I look at my phone and see that it's new years soon.
"Hey, I'm going to my mom now. Its new years in five minutes." I says with a smile.
"Okay, can you tell my mom to come to me and dad?" he asks with a smile.
I nod and go.
"See you later!" I hear him shout and smile to myself.

"Hey mom, it's new years soon!" I say with a smile.
She smiles at me and puts an arm around me.
"Rio, Miles and mr. Morales are waiting for you." I say to her.
"Thank you Y/n, see you later!" she says with a smile to us and walks away.

"Three, two, one happy new year!" everybody shouts and hug each other.
I hug my mom and we smile at each other.
"Happy new year mom, I love you!" I say with a smile.
"Happy new year darling! I love you too and now go to Miles, he's waiting for you." she says while giving me a kiss on the cheek.

I search him in the crowd and walk towards him.
"Happy new year!" he says to me with a smile.
"Happy new year!" I say back and smile at him.
We just look at each other and I go on my tip toes, kissing him in the cheek.
He smiles at me and touches the spot my my lips met his skin.
"Thank you." he says.
"You're welcome." I say with the a small laugh and he hugs me.
