Run,
little crab,
run.
Before those curious,
little kids,
with their nimble fingers,
and ADHD energy,
discover you hiding in the crustacean shallows.
For you could end up in a plastic blue, dollar store bucket,
accompanied
by crusty, mussel seashore shells,
and slimy, little coastline pebbles.
Run,
little crab,
run.
Don't wait!
Or you may find,
your freedom depends,
upon merciful parents,
who aren't very fond of serving you over spaghetti and red sauce tonight.
