Swimming pool

(Listen to swimming pool by Marie Madeleine)

It's not that I've hit rock bottom
Just that I've been in a swimming pool
For longer than I could remember
I've learned to live with the water
I swim and I sometimes sing
When it's getting harder
I sink and I sometimes swing
Then sink some more
It's fun, it's torture
My muscles hurt but I can relax
I won't drown, I just float further
Numb and cold and at least
My tears are swallowed,
Hidden by the pool, a chlorine feast
No where to run, no where to hide
Just vast vile fake waters and me, a beast
Sinking, singing, dying on the ride
Loving so hard just to be left behind
On the borderline of the tide
In this goddamn swimming pool.
