CAMILE's POV

"show time!" pinoe startles me by slapping her hand on my shoulder from behind only to realize we're the only two waiting inside the tunnel. "guess we're early." it wouldn't be long till everyone came out though. "you nervous?" she asks.

"you know me better than that, p." i've faced worse in my own practices. this is nothing.

"you're right, i forget i'm talking to a fearless and untouchable ballon d'Or winner."

"are you mocking me right now?"

"that's exactly what i'm doing." i roll my eyes playfully when lindsay comes out.

at the same time do we see some of the french players come out. "the competition should be fun." lindsay whispers to us as she makes her way to the front. "hey, you look nervous." she randomly says when she stands next to me.

"why's everyone keep saying that?" they know i'd never be nervous. "looks speak more than words. talk to us, cami."

the same time lindsay tells me that, i make eye contact with elisa.

all to receive a bitter smile.

"i got a crowd watching back home." i admit after that, knowing i'll have someone on me the whole game.

knowing the real pressure is how i perform for everyone watching. "home as in home-home or barcelona home?"

"barcelona's my only home, what are you talking about?"

"right... forgot." they both say after giving each other a look and all i can do is stand there cracking my fingers. "listen, we got you and you've got us. we're gonna push through together like we always do. trust, when we win, you're gonna be so confused as to what you were worried for in the first place."

they have a point.

it's all about the end results.

why worry now?

GAVI's POV

"just keep clicking channels till we find it!"

"we're gonna miss kick off!"

"CAN ALL OF YOU SHUT THE FUCK UP?!"

balde's voice startled all of us to actually shut the fuck up... even xavi.

he stood up and grabbed the remote from frenkie and pressed the numbers on it. we knew it was the channel because the first person we saw was camile standing right in the middle, waiting for everyone to get on the pitch to kick off.

"quite the gloomy day here in chicago, illinois, but what better light to shine than camile santana kicking us off as the two nations meet for the twenty fourth time in history."

"ew i hate english commentators." ansu says as we get all accommodated.

"they aren't so bad." lewandowski tries to defend them but i'd have to agree with ansu. "speaking of camile,"

"my favorite topic!" mikky goes which makes all of us laugh softly as the commentator continues,

"who had a lovely start to her season with fourteen goals in the sixteen league matches she's been able to play if it weren't for the minor injury in january."
