Started writing in a journal just so that I could keep track
of all those midnight hours when my heart would bring you back.
They'd shake me to my core and steal away all of my dreams,
and I feel every single detail and feel them in extremes.I used to like the dark 'til it was all that I could see;
'til it ripped away the light and left me without sympathy.
Now no one understands the side of things I cannot show.
You keep hidden all your crimes, and they'll never have to know.But I do.
I do, I do, I do.
I know,
and so do you.I used to light up the room; once I lit up the sky,
but that girl is marooned with no reasons why.
Bet you glow in the dark, bet you melt through the sun.
You broke my sweet heart and took the only working one.Do you stand in the ashes? Do you notice the flames?
Do you rewrite the past just to clear your own name?
Do you blame it on me because I chose to go?
Do you take comfort in knowing they'll never, ever know?But I do.
I do, I do, I do.
I know,
and so do you.I spit out the truth
but can't taste liberation.
There's no train from you
out of Merion Station;
no one here to soothe
the strained separation.
Wish I left all of you
back in Merion Station.Now no one understands the side of things I can't show.
You keep hidden your crimes, and they'll never have to know.But I do.
I do, I do, I do.
And I know
you do, too.'3:49 Train' - 10/11/23.
There's no train from you out of Merion Station.
