"What?" I breathe.
I can't even think about what he's saying. Is he breaking up with me?
"Are you breaking off with me?" I ask.
"Yes." He nods.
"Wha- What? Why?" I ask.
He looks awak.
"I'm leaving Teca." He says.
"What? Zatz." I take his hand.
He pushes off me.
"Is this about me? Is this about my mom?" I ask.
"No. It's me." He says.
Tears started slipping from my face. Is he serious? We've fought Lord Mictlan together. He walks off. My head starts screaming. How can he just do this? Why is he doing this? I grab his hand.
"Zatz, please! What is going on with you?" I scream.
"You wouldn't understand. I'm leaving now." He says.
No! I won't let you leave. You can't leave me. You can't just walk away from everything. What is going on inside his head. Why are you doing this? What's wrong with you? Have you forgotten everything we've ever known and done?
"Goodbye Princess Maya." He pushes me off.
"Wait-" I call.
He turns into a flock of bats and flies away. I fall to my knees screaming and crying.
