The encounter with Vinny, a former acquaintance from Rehaan's past, had stirred up the ghosts he had tried so hard to leave behind. It was clear that he needed to open up about his past to both Reena an, to be honest and transparent about the life he had once led as "Rocky." It was a step he had been avoiding, but one he knew was necessary to move forward.

A few days after the encounter with Vinny, Rehaan had gathered the courage to sit down with Reenao reveal his past. He had asked her to join him at a cozy cafe where they could talk privately.

Rehaan took a deep breath and sat down next to Reena on the couch. He had been putting off this conversation for a long time, but he knew that he couldn't do it anymore. He had to tell Reena about his past.

"Reena," he said. "I have something to tell you."

Reena looked at him expectantly. "What is it?" she asked.

"It's about my past," he said. "I've never told anyone about this before, but I think you deserve to know."

Reena nodded. "I'm listening."

Rehaan took a deep breath and began to tell Reena about his life in the mafia. He told her about his childhood, how he had been groomed to be a gangster from a young age. He told her about the violence and the crime. He told her about the people he had lost.

Reena listened quietly, her eyes wide with shock. She couldn't believe that the man she thought was her best friend had such a dark past.

"But that's not me anymore," Rehaan said. "I left the mafia years ago, and I've never looked back. I'm a different person now."

Reena sat on the couch, her mind racing. She couldn't believe what Rehaan had told her. He had been a gangster? He had killed people?

She felt a surge of anger and betrayal. She had loved him and trusted him, and he had kept such a huge secret from her.

She stood up and walked over to the window. She looked out at the city below, but she didn't see it. She was too lost in her thoughts.

She thought about all the times she had been there for Rehaan. She had helped him through thick and thin. She had been his best friend.

And he had lied to her the whole time.

She felt a tear roll down her cheek. She quickly wiped it away. She wouldn't let him see her cry.

She turned away from the window and walked back to the couch. She sat down and looked at Rehaan.

"Why didn't you tell me?" she asked.

Rehaan looked at her with pleading eyes. "I was afraid," he said. "I was afraid of losing you."

"But you did lie to me," Reena said. "And now I don't know who you are anymore."

Rehaan stood up and walked over to Reena. He took her hands in his. "I'm still the same Rehaan that is your best friend" he said. "I'm just a more flawed version of him."

Reena pulled her hands away. "I don't know what to think," she said. "I need some time to process this."

Rehaan nodded. "I understand," he said. "But please know that I love you more than anything in the world."

Reena turned and walked away. She needed some time alone to think about everything that had happened.

Later that day

Reena went for a walk to clear her head. She walked for hours, thinking about Rehaan and his past.

She was still angry with him for lying to her, but she also felt sorry for him. She knew that he had been through a lot.

She decided to confront him later that day. She needed to know why he had lied to her and why he had chosen to keep his past a secret from her.

Later that day

Reena went back to Rehaan's apartment. She knocked on the door, and Rehaan opened it.

"Reena," he said. "I'm so glad you're here."

He pulled her inside and gave her a hug. Reena hugged him back, but she felt stiff and awkward.

"I need to talk to you," she said.

Rehaan nodded. "Of course," he said. "What is it?"

Reena and Rehaan sat down on the couch. Reena looked at him for a long time, trying to gather her thoughts.

"Why did you lie to me?" she finally asked.

Rehaan sighed. "I was afraid," he said. "I was afraid of losing you."

"But you did lose me," Reena said. "You lost my trust."

Rehaan looked down at his hands. "I know," he said. "And I'm so sorry."

"Why didn't you tell me?" Reena asked. "Why did you choose to keep your past a secret from me?"

Rehaan looked up at Reena. "I was ashamed," he said. "I was ashamed of the things I had done. I didn't want you to think less of me."

Reena shook her head. "I never would have thought less of you,"

Rehaan smiled. "Thank you, Reena," he said. "That means a lot."

Reena and Rehaan talked for a long time that day. They talked about Rehaan's past and why he had chosen to keep it a secret. They also talked about their future and how they were going to move forward.

In the end, Reena decided to forgive Rehaan. She also knew that everyone had a past, and that no one was perfect.
