Casual Connection

He asked me my name,

Dark Ray-Bans shaded his eyes.

A smooth, tenor voice.

He told be a bit about himself.

A skater, a humble soul,

Casually awesome.

He sits across from me,

A strand of brown hair in his face.

He mumbles something random,

not expecting a response.

I reply sarcastically,

he smiles that heart-warming grin.

We talk and talk,

time is on our side.

Best friends in an instant.

I wait anxiously,

alone at a table.

My thoughts interrupted,

he enters the room.

He sits down beside me,

eats oranges and tells a story.

It is absurd,

I love it.

I learn about his past,

a trial in itself.

He has been so strong.

I am proud of him.

I watch as he dances with another,

smiling bright.

He shines with each step.

He interacts with each of his peers,

confides in them in such a short time.

Making them laugh,

making me laugh.

Suddenly, it is time to go.

He shouts my name,

enfolds me in his arms.

Smiling for a picture,

waving goodbye.

How could 2 people connect

in such short time?

Perhaps we met in the pre-mortal life.

I do not know if we will meet again.

I can only hope,

for he is my best friend.

This is not an imagine, it's an original poem.
