Note: Made shortly before the release of Murder Drones Episode 3 "The Promening". This takes place in an alternate timeline to On-Brand Loyalty where the events of Murder Drones Episode 1 happen and result in a rather casual truce between J's squad and Uzi's colony.

A scenario where Dror, J, and the others just spend time at prom is not planned to happen in On-Brand Loyalty so this oneshot was made in place of that.

J scoffed to herself as she walked through the crowd of teenage Worker Drones, trying her best to avoid contact with the smaller robots as she squeezed around them. They all wore some manner of fancy clothing, the males wearing a consistent array of fitted suits while the females wore a variety of dresses in different styles and colors. This was apparently all for the sake of a "high-school prom" for the Worker Drone colony, such a messy and noisy event, and one very clearly plagiarized from human culture.

Naturally, the squad leader didn't like being here one bit, around so many defective drones who she should be using to build her kill quota as they mingled about and listened to absurdly annoying music. Yet she had reluctantly agreed to a truce with that small edgy teen and J wasn't one to go back on her word.

To stand out less than she already did, J, along with the rest of her squad, had changed into more event-appropriate attire. Whereas V had come in with a striking red dress, J chose to dress in a black and gray tuxedo with a yellow ascot, a similar color scheme to her usual uniform, while also keeping the standard Disassembly Drone band on her arm. She always felt long dresses were impractical whilst at least a tux gave a more professional appearance, which she always strived for.

The only reason J had even considered going to this dance was because N had practically pleaded with her to let him and V go for 3 days straight once they heard about it, and there was only so much of his annoying puppy-dog eyes she could mentally handle. So here she was, making sure her squadmates didn't cause any trouble in honor of her truce with Uzi.

There hadn't been nearly as much suspicion directed toward a trio of Murder Drones attending a school dance as she had expected, just some occasional wary looks in her direction.

'Alright, that's enough of that.' She thought. 'I need someone to talk to, where's Dror?'

After some walking around, she eventually spotted her shortest squadmate in the corner of the room, standing by a table with a variety of what the workers considered refreshments on it. She noted with some amusement how out of place Dror looked, despite being a Worker Drone himself. He did wear something else besides his typical insulated jacket, but it was still far from what J would consider "dressed up". It was just a white office shirt tucked into a pair of pants paired with a black tie. He even kept his JCJenson hat on. With a mug of oil in his hand, he wouldn't be out of place as a human office employee.

It was extremely basic and out of place compared to the rest of the male workers and their fancy suits, but J couldn't help but find it cute. She even spied that he also kept his yellow armband on like she did.

As J walked over, she also noticed Uzi talking with him. The purple-haired girl wore a pitch-black dress with a matching set of gloves, making Dror beside her seem even more underdressed. Once Dror spotted J, he quickly shooed Uzi away and gave a nod to his leader as she stood beside him.

J smirked. "Happy to finally meet someone your own size shorty?"

He grimaced at the height joke but still answered. "Maybe if she dropped all that ego. I swear, that kid has a god complex." Dror eyed Uzi as she approached another teen named Thad or something. "She just asked if I'd noticed anything "out of the ordinary". Aside from one of those cheerleader girls eyeing V weirdly, everything's fine."

Leaning against the wall beside Dror, J responded. "Most of the hormonal kids here are doing that too, so that's not anything worth noting."

Dror muttered as he took a sip of oil. "Hard to blame em, that dress is very eye-catching..."

J couldn't help but feel her eye twitch at that. "...is that so?" Out of the corner of her eye, she spotted V interacting with N, who was a stuttering mess talking to her.

The Worker Drone's eyes widened a bit as he feigned a cough into his free hand, "I mean that respectfully, of course! Pretty, colorful dresses are overhyped anyway."

J said nothing at that, instead focusing her attention on adjusting one of her wrist cuffs.

Dror stared at her for a second, taking in her attire before darting his eyes away with a small orange blush. "The tux looks good on you by the way, way more professional than the rest of these costumed kids. Draws less obnoxious attention too."

J gave him a quick and surprised glance, a hint of yellow blush on her visor but quickly recovered as she adopted her signature smirk. "Well of course! For one to be the best they must also look the best. You'd never catch me in some silly dress." J held her smirk as she eyed Dror's own attire. "And I see you're taking your 'loyal worker' angle pretty seriously. As always, I admire your devotion."

Dror's blush grew as he tipped his hat, trying to cover his face. J laughed and turned her attention back to the crowd, keeping an eye out for trouble. Quickly though, the music changed to something quieter and moodier while all the teen drones went to dance with their dates.

Dror looked up at J, who only rolled her eyes at the activity. "You uh... wanna go dance?"

"Hell no."

"Oh thank goodness, glad we're on the same page."
