I miss my dad,
I don't miss the man who created me,
who was only there when he had to be.
I miss my dad,
the dad that I could have had.
I miss the man who could have kissed my forehead,
and tell me it would be okay, because he was there.
I miss the man who would've chased off boys
and told me to wait until college.
I miss the man who'd lay next to me 'til I fell asleep,
because I was afraid of the monster under my bed.
I miss the man who'd teach me handiwork
and all about cars.
I miss the man who'd push me on the swing,
until I felt like I was in the clouds.
I miss the man who'd tell me he loves me over and over
so I'd never forget it.
I miss my dad.

A/N - this is a little off from the theme of this book, but I'm proud of this poem and love comes in all forms— even one's you wish you had growing up. So that's why I'm posting this under this theme.

I hope you guys are enjoying my poetry so far, and thank you so much for 500 views! ❤️
