I was sleeping relatively good. For once and was awoken by the dome rumbling and shaking. I fell off my bed and saw mom running towards my room and she opened the door.
Mom helped me up and we both went into Tom's room.
"Tom! Come on! Come on! Come on!" Mom said
Tom quickly got up and stood by us in the doorway to his room.
"This one's got an attitude!" He says
"No kidding." I said
Soon the shaking came to a stop.
Mom sighed "Thankfully, domes are the strongest structures on Earth."
Just then an alarm started going off.
"What's that mean?" Tom asks

We were in the ICARIS station listening to our mom.
"Unlike most quakes, the epicenter of ours moves in a line, activating faults as it goes. (She shows a demonstration on a hologram) Usually down the fissure, away from ICARIS. But this last quake shifted the ground directly beneath us, and another quake could fracture the wall, dropping ICARIS and Rakke Town into the chasm. And all of us with it." Mom explains as the holograph showed us as she explained.
Mrs. Wong gasped.
"So, what do we do?" Chief Baker asks
"We blow it up." Mom says
"That's crazy. You're crazy. She's crazy." Linda says
"Linda. Olivia's last crazy idea predicted this fissure and have us all jobs. Crazy away, Olivia." Directed Wong says
"Thanks, May.( she hits a button on her remote.) We send a manned probe a couple miles into the fissure, near the endpoint of the last quake. Then, we deploy explosives to blast that spot, and I believe that will stop whatever is creating these tremors. Mom explains
"Seems to me that's just a faster way to collapse everything." Chief Baker says
"There are no caves under the station. It's why we chose to build ICARIS on this spot. So, I believe it will remain stable. Some of the caves in the area will collapse, yes, but that won't affect us." Mom explains
"The dragons' lair." D'Angelo says quietly before covering his mouth.
"They said at Corporate, "Olivia's planning on detonating the fissure." I didn't believe it.( She scoffs) I should've known better." Dr. Sledkin says
"Oh man." Tom groans quietly
"Not her. Why her?" I groaned quietly
"Dr. Sledkin. I didn't know you were coming." Directed Wong says
