Chapter 1. Good news

Louis was exhausted when he got home from work. There's something about working with first grade (year 1) kids that really tired him out but he wouldn't change his job for the world.

Louis is a elementary school (primary school) teacher and loved spending his days surrounded by children and he was desperate to have his own family one day. However things weren't that easy as he was married to a man meaning adoption was the only way forward but the adoption period was a long process.

Louis has been married to his childhood best friend for 5 years. Liam is a children's pediatrician and like Louis he absolutely loved his job.

Louis and Liam had met in school when they were kids when Liam moved to Doncaster and Louis was asked to show the new boy around. They has clicked instantly and had been best friends ever since.

When Louis came out as gay Liam was the only friend that stayed and helped him though all the bullying. When Louis was 16 and Liam was 14 Liam also came out as gay and a year later best friends had turned into boyfriends.

Liam is now 29 years old and Louis is now 31 years old happily married and both successful in their careers. They settled in Doncaster and Liam's parents moved back to Wolverhampton. All they wanted now was to get the call saying they had children they could adopt.

"Liam where are you?" Louis said as he called out for Liam.

"I'm in the kitchen baby" Liam said from the kitchen.

Louis entered the kitchen to see Liam staring intently on his laptop.

"What's so interesting babe?" Louis asked Liam.

"Ok babe don't freak out or anything but I have news." Liam told Louis.

"What kind of news do you have?" Louis asked.

"Actually you might want to sit down." Liam said

"Li what's going on your scaring me." Louis said.

"Ok so um you know how we desperately want to start a family" Liam said.

"Yeah." Louis said.

"Just read this." Liam said.

He passed Louis his laptop and Louis was in tears after just 5 seconds.

"Really is this real?" Louis asked.

"Yes baby. Were going to be parents." Liam said.

Louis jumped into Liam's lap and hugged him tightly.

"I love you so much." Louis said.

"I love you more. I can't believe we're finally going to be parents. When can we meet them?" Liam said.

"The first meeting is set for Saturday as neither of us works weekends but the orphanage is far it's in London and it's a 3 hour drive from here. We got to pass by Birmingham to get to London." Louis said.

"I don't care I'll happily travel that distance. We have the money to be able to pay for a hotel for the night." Liam said

"Alright then we are heading to London this weekend." Louis said.

"Li do you think they will like us?" Louis asked

It's Friday evening and Louis is panicking about if his potential new kids are going to like him.

"Lou baby what's not to like about you. Your kind loving and exactly what a parent should be." Liam said.

"I just don't want them to say no." Louis said.
