Day 25 Prompt: Ambition

Title: Twenty-Five

The forests have all gone up in smoke, turned to charcoal and
What was once soil at their feet, has been eroded by egotistical ambition, leaving grains of sand and clay, and
Endless rivers have been silted by the debris of fallen canopies, and
No longer do beautiful snow-capped peaks provide a vista on the skyline, and
The once towering cities slowly crumble to dust, having
Yielded to the uncompromising ways of mother nature, and
-
Falling to the ground, each crumbling brick augments the raging dust storms, and heartless
Indiscriminate violence is rife, and the unheard
Voices of the starving scream out to the rich and famous, let me in you sons of bitches, but soon
Everyone left outside the domes is silenced, becoming whispering ghosts of a forgotten past
