"The future is very frightening"
She said
I asked her why
And she said she didn't know

"I'm very afraid of the future"
She said
I asked her why
And she said she didn't know

So I tried to explain
That future can be whatever she wants
Whatever she chooses
Whatever she needs

"Maybe then, I will have all the things I have ever dreamed of:
Silence"
She said
And I laughed
Because it was such an odd thing to wish.
