cherry was in the center of the living room, sitting on the wooden floor.

tara and quinn were heard from the kitchen.

a mirror was placed ahead of the girl on the floor. she was hyper-focused on beginning her makeup.

she lined her concealer on, and looked up when the front door shut.

"you look.. pretty." ethan complimented, slowly.

"don't even." cherry resisted a laugh, and began to blend her concealer out.

"i'm telling you the truth! i think you look pretty all the time."

"stop being corny."

"sorry."

ethans shoulders slumped, and he made his way into the kitchen.

cherry pressed her lips into a thin line, regretting the words that she'd let out. why did she make things so awkward?

the girl finished her makeup on the floor, her mind filling with a variety of thoughts of ethan.

about how good his hair looked that day. the way he'd smiled when he entered the door and had seen her.

every action he made with her was gentle.
