I walked back into the house only to be disrupted by Nick quickly running down to the stairs, I looked up at him with a puzzled face then he stopped out of breath and turned to me 

“Scarlett is in hospital she needs appendectomy,” He quickly explained all in one breath 

I jumped to my feet in panic mode now I quickly ran out to the car and drove out the driveway; I knew Nick would grab his own car so I didn’t worry about him. I tried to go as fast as I could without going over the speed limit. This is my entire fault, she told me she was sick and I told her that she was lying now she is going into surgery. I could just imagine my poor baby sister having a knife cut through her stomach and the scar that was going to stick with her for the rest of her life. And the media oh the media, they are going to have a field day. I drove into the hospitals car park and payed for my parking spot as quickly as humanly possible then I ran up to the reception 

“Hello my little sister is in here her name is Scarlet Jonas she is fourteen years old and…” I started until the receptionist started talking 

“Yes here she is Miss Scarlett Mackenzie Jonas, born January third 1998, aged 14, placed into surgery thirty two minutes ago for a laparoscopic appendectomy she is due out of surgery in half an hour with the way her body is managing. NO major surgery implications known yet and will be in the young adults ward two bedroom three for the maximum five days, minimum twenty four hours,” The old receptionist with dark circles under her eyes from lack of sleep informed me in that old persons’ voice all people have 

“What am I supposed to do for that half hour, is there any forms I have to sign?” I asked needing a distraction 

“Sir we do not need anything signed until the discharge day Mr Jonas so please have a seat, talk to other siblings if you must,” She instructed 

I nodded and pulled out my mobile I texted Nick texting him what the receptionist had just told me then I typed in Kevin’s number as it rung I sat onto an empty chair, across the empty room I could see a young girl about Jades’ age gazing at me stars truck, I gave her a quick half smile, it was all I could do then I heard Kevin pick up his phone 

“Hey Kevin it Joe,” I started 

“I know I have caller ID,” He responded I could hear that he was eating something by the slowing sound that he made before he spoke 

“Kevin it’s Scarlett she’s,” I couldn’t finish my sentence without swallowing my sadness  

“What has she done now,” He sighed I could hear that he was standing up by the chair scrapping noises in the background 

“She is in hospital in surgery,” I could hear his gasp “laparoscopic appendectomy, she is responding well in surgery and there are no implications so far. The surgery is supposed to end in half an hour but I don’t know what I am supposed to do Kevin, please help,” 

“Look little bro I just need to drop Jade to playgroup then I will be straight there okay?” He asked 

I nodded and smiled “Okay,” 

I sat on the chair, young girl still staring at me from across the room, where was this girls parents? I asked myself She waved at me and I gave a small wave back. Then out of nowhere she ran up to me and sat in the unoccupied chair beside me. 

“Are you Joe Jonas sir?” She asked so politely 

“Why yes I am and who might you be?” I asked 

“My name is Azalea I really like your music and I watch your shows every morning,” She smiled 

“Well Azalea you seem like a sweet kid and I am so happy we have fans like you but where are your mommy and daddy?” I asked 

“Dad took too much yucky stuff that makes him go funny and passed out so he had to come here, mommy is with him for now but she wants to get away from here soon,” She explained 

I looked at the poor young girl, the yucky stuff was obviously drugs and her father had overdosed. She looked up at me with large grassy green eyes, pasty white skin and wispy light blonde hair smiling. 

“Azalea what is your age?” I asked 

“I am this many,” She explained holding out four fingers 

“Wow four years old, you are almost older than me,” I acted shocked 

“My daddy it a million years old, he lived around when the dinosaurs where around,” She exclaimed proudly 

“Really dinosaurs?” 

“Yeah dinosaurs sir the ones that go like this,” She looked behind her and the started making large dinosaur raw ring noises like a dying dinosaur 

“Hey Joe I came as soon as I could,” Kevin smiled at me “And who is this little girl?” He asked putting on his baby voice tussling Azaleas hair 

“This little girl is named Azalea she is out biggest fan Kevin and also she can transform into a dinosaur,” I joked Kevin let out a smile 

“Wow a dinosaur that is amazing, Azalea how much do you love Jonas?” Kevin asked sitting next to me 

“This much!” She exclaimed placing her arms as far as she could 

“Wow that is a lot, you must be our biggest fan,” Kevin smiled as Danielle walked in with Nick, poor little Azalea was so overwhelmed she stood up and started jumping 

“Hey hows Scar?” Danni asked smiling at Azalea and sitting next to Kevin 

“Dunno yet,” I shrugged 

“And who is this young girl?” Nick asked knelling down to Azaleas height 

“A-Azalea, I am your biggest fan sir,” She stuttered 

“Well I think that Jonas’s biggest fan deserves a new music cd with Nick, Joes and Kevin’s signature addressed directly to her, what do you think Azalea?” Danielle asked pulling out her large purse and a black permanent marker. 

Azalea nodded in excitement as Kevin signed ‘To Azalea our biggest fan xoxo Kevin’ on the back. Nick grabbed to the cd and signed the inside ‘Keep on rocking Azalea from Nick’ then I signed the back of the case ‘TO Azalea hope all goes well xoxo Joe’ 

“Azalea time to go,” A young 19 year old woman that looked more like Azaleas older sister then anything ordered not looking up from her phone 

“Okay mommy how’s daddy?” Azalea asked 

“HE will be out next week now thank these people and go,” She replied rudely 

I handed her the cd and she smiled “Thank you so much sirs you have made my day, no week, no my life yeah I hope yours sister goes okay,”  

I smiled at her and waved , what a sweet kid, I thought 

“Bye!” She shouted holding her mom’s hand and walking out 

“Bye Azalea,” All four of us replied 

“Are we going to tell Frankie?” I asked the other three once Azalea was out of hearing range 

“Yeah I’ll give him a text now,” Nick nodded pulling out his phone 

“Scarlet’s surgery was a success and she is finished, she is in the ward now but she will be quite lethargic for a while,” The receptionist butted in

I nodded and ran up to the young adult ward ward with Kevin, Nick and Danielle close behind me.

“Bedroom 1, bedroom two aha,” I muttered walking into Scarlett’s room where she was just about to wake up
