"Hi." Wanda says as she enters the kitchen. "Where's Steve?"
"Out for a run." Sarah says and cut an onion.
"In the snow? That's bad." Wanda says and grabbed a cupcake, Sarah slapped away her daughters hand. "I was gonna eat that!"
"That's for dessert!" Sarah says, "Now put on an apron and help me make dinner."
"But I'm snacky." Wanda says
"There are cookies in the cupboard, grab that." Sarah says, "And drink water!"
"Yes, ma'am." Wanda says and grabbed a cookie and a glass.
"Hi." Steve says as he entered the kitchen in just a thin sweater and sweatpants, he removed his headphones from his ears and paused his music on his phone.
"You went out wearing only that?" Wanda asks
"Sweetie, you're gonna get sick like that." Sarah says
"It's not that cold outside." Steve says and grabbed a can of cola from the fridge.
"Steve, it's a freezing temperature outside. Please wear a coat next time." Sarah says
"Yes, ma'am." Steve says
"Now get changed, there's company coming in an hour." Sarah says, "And get a shower, you smell a bit."
"Okay." Steve says and opened the can. "Can I grab a cupcake?"
"No!" Sarah says, "Grab a damn cookie. You two are such hungry monsters."
"Haha, very funny." Steve says
Steve arrived downstairs an hour late, he spent two hours in his bedroom getting ready and just watching TV.
"Finally! We were waiting for you." Wanda says
"And I'm starving, so let's eat." Pietro says
"Sorry I took so long, didn't feel like doing things." Steve says and sat down at the dinner table.
"Are you upset about Natasha?" Maria asks
"Whatever." Steve mumbles and pulled a chicken drumstick on his plate.
"Someone's in a mood." Sam says
After dinner everyone went to the living room to play games to pass the last few hours of the year. Steve kept drinking beers after beers without anyone noticing.
"Only an hour left! Let's tell everyone our New Year's resolutions!" Sarah says
"I'll go first." Pietro says and stood up, he raised his beer bottle and cleared his throat. "This year, I will finally get a girlfriend, I have come to realize that I am way too cool to be single. Cheers!"
Everyone laughed and took a sip of their drink.
"Me next!" Wanda says, "This year, I'm finally gonna find my own place, as much as I love you, mom and dad, I am way too old to be living alone."
"Great idea, pumpkin." Sarah says and patted Wanda's back.
"Thank you." Wanda says and sat back down.
"Well I'm just gonna speak for me and my cutie." Sam says, "This year we will try to add a new member to our family."
A lot of "awwh's" were heard around the room and everyone congratulated the pair for trying to become parents.
"Buck's next!" Sam says
"Alright." Bucky says and got up, "This year I want to try and ask my all time crush out, because she's great, and adorable, and really sweet, and I have loved her since I first met her in this very house..."
"Buck, she's probably flattered, but she's my mom so back off." Pietro says and everyone laughed.
"What? No, no, no! I mean, Sarah you're beautiful, but no!" Bucky says, "I, I want to ask Wanda out. I mean if you want to? You don't have to... Just let me know."
"Awwh, of course I will go out with you!" Wanda says and jumped up. "You're my all time crush too!"
"I knew it!" Joseph says
"Joe..." Sarah says
Wanda pulled Bucky to her and kissed him right on the lips. You could hear everyone celebrating the two with their hopefully new relationship.
"Excuse me." Steve says and got up.
"Steve?" Wanda says
"I'm just gonna grab some air." Steve says and left the room.
"Umh, mom, maybe you can go next?" Wanda asks
"Of course, and this is from me and Joe, because we made our resolution together." Sarah says, "This year we want to stay healthy as we did this year, and save money this year to go on a big trip later."
"Where would you two be going?" Pietro asks
"We were thinking Hawaii or somewhere else tropical. You know a relaxing vacation." Joseph says
"Sounds nice." Bucky says
Steve came back in the room and walked straight to the kitchen to get a new beer bottle. He re-entered the room and all eyes are on him.
"Your turn, sweetie." Sarah says
"Okay, well, this year I will be focusing on work, since I sold out last year, and I might've find an actual girlfriend so I got someone to spend my life with." Steve says and took a chunk of his drink.
"That sounds great, pal." Bucky says
"Not as great as you planning on screwing my sister, but oh-well." Steve says
"Steve!" Wanda says
"What? I'm not allowed to be upset about this? You're my little sister and best friend, and you both never told me, your brother and best friend, that you were crushing on each other. For heaven's sake, who knows, maybe the only reason Bucky is still friends with me is so he could see Wanda." Steve says
"Steve, I think you should stop." Sam says
"Sure, you know, my opinion won't matter, but here you all are trying to push me 365 days a year to start dating, while I don't want that!" Steve says
"Sweetie are you drunk?" Sarah says
"Who gives a fuck? All I did was try to make everyone happy, but that blew up in my face since someone here had to be a noisy person and listen in on private phonecalls." Steve says
"I get you're upset about that, but you can't even admit you liked her!" Sarah says
"Please just stop!" Joseph says, "This is the last day of the year, in less than an hour there's a new start for everyone. Steve we get you're upset and that this is a lot, but just deal with it for now, you can leave tomorrow if you want to."
"Great." Steve says
And half an hour later the clock hit midnight and fireworks were launched into the sky. The New Year's kiss was obviously being participated by Wanda, Bucky, Maria, Sam and Steve's parents.
Natasha sat down on her couch with a cup of coffee. She sipped it slowly as she looked outside at the New York City skyline which was covered in snow. She saw the fireworks filling the skyline, all the different colors made a beautiful first night of the new year.
"New Year, New Me let's hope." Natasha says
She flicked off her living room lights and went to an empty bed in her dark apartment.
