'Tis The Damn Season

Chapter 9

Natasha was standing in the kitchen trying to calm down from all the stuff that was happening outside the kitchen doors. Steve walked inside and went to her.

"You okay?" Steve asks

"Pepper knows." Natasha says

"Knows what?" Steve asks

"That this isn't real." Natasha says

"Oh... Did she tell Tony?" Steve asks

"No." Natasha says

"Then it's fine." Steve says

"I don't know if I can do this any longer, I mean spending time with your family. They think we're in love and all that stuff, I hate lying to them." Natasha says

"Me too." Steve says

"Maybe we can something just us the next couple of days, so they won't be breathing down our necks." Natasha suggests

"That sounds like a good idea." Steve says

"What is there to do around here?" Natasha asks

"We can go skiing." Steve says

"That sounds like fun." Natasha says

"Should we go tomorrow?" Steve asks

"Sure." Natasha says

"Have you eaten yet?" Steve asks

"Not really. I made all this food, but everything was already gone when I wanted it." Natasha says

"Do you might wanna sneak out to get a burger?" Steve asks

"Yes! I'm starving." Natasha says

"Let's go through the back door." Steve says and pushed Natasha towards the back door.

The two fled out of the house and went to Steve's car to get a burger at Burger King.

Early in the morning Natasha and Steve left the house to go to the ski slopes. They rented a pair of ski's and shoes for Natasha while Steve had his own set still at home.

"Have you done this before?" Steve asks

"Please, I was the one that helped little Peter with his skiing lessons." Natasha says

"Alright." Steve says, "Let's go."

They went to the lifts and stepped inside. It wasn't very busy so they could just have one for themselves.

Once they reached the top, Steve showed Natasha all the routes they could take and what were nice places to eat. They decided to go with the blue path and follow that to a nice restaurant where they had a cup of coffee.

After a couple hours of skiing they decided to have lunch. They went to a nice restaurant and ordered their food.

"Can I ask you something?" Natasha asks

"Of course." Steve answers

"If your mother and sister didn't walk in that day when they met me, do you think we would've seen each other again?" Natasha asks

"I really wouldn't know an answer to that. I mean you are great, but we also did have a one night stand." Steve says, "Is there a reason you're asking me this?"

"No, no. Pepper just said that I might meet someone I could fall in love with randomly... What if that person is you?" Natasha asks

"Well if that person was me, we would have feelings for each other, right? And we don't." Steve says

"You're right." Natasha says

"Here are your orders, enjoy." A waiter said and placed their food on the table.

The next couple of days were quiet, Natasha and Steve watched some movies in bed while everyone else was back at work.

On Friday 30 December, the two wanted to bake cupcakes. The cupcakes turned out great, but because of the flour fight the kitchen looked like hell, just like the two of them.

Sarah came home early that day and told Steve to clean up while Natasha took a shower.

After Natasha took the shower, she wrapped herself in a towel and walked into the bedroom. Her phone started to ring and she answered it.

"Nat? Oh, my God you actually picked up." The voice on the other side of the line said.

"Matt? Why are you calling me?" Natasha asks

"Didn't you see it was me?" Matt asks

"I deleted your number." Natasha says

"Oh, well, okay." Matt says

"What do you want Matt? You broke my heart only two or three weeks ago." Natasha says

"I want you back." Matt says

"Back? You're the one who cheated on me in the first place! Why would I ever take you back?" Natasha asks

"It's New Year's Eve tomorrow, I was planning on proposing to you." Matt says

"Proposing? And you still think I would say yes? Just because your relationship with your other girl didn't work out, doesn't mean I will run back to you." Natasha says, "You broke my heart. I can't believe I ever trusted you! Do you know how hard it's been?"

"Come on, Nat. I know you still love me." Matt says

"Well I don't, goodbye and never call me again." Natasha says and hung up.

She sat down on the bed and started to cry. How dares that prick call her after what he did.

What Natasha didn't know was that Sarah stood behind the door and heard the whole conversation.

hellooooo, sorry it's such a chapter, I wanted to end it on a cliffhanger and I didn't know what else to write.

also sorry for not posting last week, I was really sick. right now I'm going on a ski vacation myself, so I'll try to make a update for next week!
