"That" Girl

This is my first actual published poem :)

I'm just "that" girl.

"that" girl who feels disgraced and disgusted.

"that" girl who's been judged

more times than she can count.

I'm "that" that girl who's been pulled to close,

and pushed too far away.

I'm "that" girl dealing with hundreds

of problems all at one time.

I guess I'm "that" girl

who's more "average" than anyone else.

I guess I'm "that" girl

who's "better" than many others.

I guess I'm "that" girl

who's "below" everyone else.

I'm "that" girl who: life doesn't mean anything

until something incredible happens.

I'm "that" girl who waits patiently

for the things that never come.

I'm "that" girl who tries so hard at everything

only to fail in the end.

I'm "that" girl always looking for answers.

I'm "that" girlwishing to be the best.

I'm "that" girl wishing to be perfect.

I'm "that" girl waiting to be recognized.

I'm "that" girl waiting for "that" boy,

in hopes that he'll make her dreams come true.

Yeah you can say what you want

about "that" girl,

but you'll never really know what it's really like

to really be "that" girl.
