Along the riverbank I stand,
Gazing out at the distant strand.
My heart aches with longing and yearning,
For a love that's forever burning.
I dream of a smile that shines so bright,
Of gentle touch that feels just right.
A love that's pure and true,
A bond that will forever ensue.
But though the moon may rise and fall,
And rivers run both wide and tall,
My love still burns with fervent fire,
A longing that will never expire.
For every beat of my lonely heart,
Is a song of love that will never depart.
A yearning that will always stay,
For a love that will come my way.
So let the winds of fate blow strong,
And carry my love song along.
For though my heart may ache with pain,
It is a love that will always remain.
