1. Recruitment Day

After being pulled around the company building all morning, sitting down at their desk was the best thing (Name) could think of doing.  Unfortunately for them the universe, or more accurately the PTJ recruitment department's head, had other plans for them.

"(Name), take me to recruit a new talent!  I really want to get this guy to be a trainee."

With their eyes rolling to the back of their head, (Name) replied.  "Don't try ordering your senior around in such a whiny way.  You can't ask me to leave work whenever it's convenient for you".  (Name) was the company's most tenured employee, only second to the current company head, CEO Yongmin Jang who started the company.

"Aw c'mon, don't pull that on me" he rubbed his neck shyly "I just thought you might want to get out of the office for once.  You basically live here 24/7 as it is.  It'll give you the chance to stop being so antisocial".  (Name) glared at the man, true as it was that (Name) almost never left the building. "...eh...okay fine I lied. C'mon I can't drive!  And no one here that can, aside from you, can even tell me what color a stoplight is.  So please drive me! I'm your precious junior after all" he begged.

Today would have to be another twenty-four hour shift.  (Name) relented, and would just have to find the time to get everything done later.  "Let's go, Junior.  I hope this lead you have works out, or I'll get Yongmin to dock your pay".

Listening for the address, with their junior scrambling behind them, (Name) made their way to the company van.  Solid black with tinted windows, the van was the best way of getting idols and trainees around unnoticed.  And for now it'd take the two of them to Jae Won High School.

Pulling up to the school, (Name) wasn't too impressed.  It was a nice place.  Not the ultra rich or mega poor area they expected.  Usually they'd only recruit trainees in person if they were unlikely to apply themselves.  That meant rich kids who weren't concerned about future jobs or really poor kids who'd never have the means to apply normally.  Middle of the road places like this didn't usually pop up on the company's radar.  "This must be an interesting talent" they said "I sure hope you're not wasting company time on mediocrity".  Watching their bratty junior sweat caused a light smirk to form on (Name)'s face.  Recruiting wasn't their job, so how this went didn't really matter.  It was just fun to tease.

"No worries" he said nervously "this kid's great, and who'd say no to working for PTJ Entertainment?"

Daniel. Daniel would say no.  He completely rejected the offer to audition for an idol position.  Although unintended, (Name)'s earlier comments made the recruiter start to shake.  It's not that the money would be a huge loss, but when (Name) complained it never ended well for whoever upset them.  The person was especially fucked if (Name) complained to CEO Jang.  The CEO loved (Name) and greatly valued what they had to say.  Mr. Jang might actually go overboard and fire him even if he overheard (Name) was unhappy.

He had to win Daniel over.  Free meals got the boy's attention, which was good.  If he had to let the kid keep modeling, or allow his undesirable looking friend to audition, it didn't matter.  Losing Daniel could mean losing his job, at least for today.

"Can I bring a friend to audition?  He is really good."

"If I say yes, will you come?"

   "Yes!"

   "..Fine.."

With that settled, the two boys were given an audition date.  They'd have a few days to prepare something and perform before the department heads.  "See, (Name), recruitment success as promised!  ...so no need to talk with the CEO, right?"

"I suppose not" (Name) replied.  "But maybe I'll keep an eye out for those two in the future.  Think of it as a little hobby to keep me busy."

As if they're not busy enough
