"Sweetheart, you have to stop punching kids at school" I said to my 4-year-old daughter who gives zero shits about me right now

"Those boys put glitter in my hair" she reasoned

"I thought you liked glitter" my mother said

"I do grammy, but I no wants it there by force" she said

"Yes" Jacky, my best friend, said before high-fiving my dramatic daughter

"My apologies ma'am" mama said with a smile

"I forgives you grammy" she said before throwing herself in her grandmother's arms

"How cute, corner, now" I said making her gasp and stare at me

"Daddy" she said with her hand on her heart

"Do you want to scoop up Buddies poop again?" I asked making her gasp and run to the corner

"I remember her adorable little face being scrunched up the whole time she was picking up his belongings" Jacky said with a chuckle

"She didn't get into trouble once that week" I said making my two favorite women laugh

"Go shower, you have a lunch shift" my mom said making me roll my eyes

"An unpaid lunch shift" I mumbled but she heard me

"Say that again, I dare you" she said making me hold my hands up in surrender before I walked away
"That's what I thought"

Walking up to the master bedroom in our two-bedroom apartment, I followed my mother's instructions and took a shower cause the last thing I need is her being pissed at me, I would probably join Addy in the corner.

When my mom and dad got remarried a decade ago because they didn't get to have a proper wedding the first time. Instead of going on a honeymoon, they both invested and started a small diner claiming it would be a waste to go on holiday and not have something financially stable to come home to. The diner is still standing and ringing in new customers.

I got dressed in black cargo pants with an army green sweatshirt then put on my black socks and grabbed somewhat army green sneakers. I had Jacky and Addy completely redesign my closet cause I was sick of hearing them tell me I have no sense of fashion.

"Go put your shoes on monkey" I said and watched a full-on pouting Addy go to the door and place her shoes on her feet.
"Dramatic ass"

"Ready?" mama asked after I put my shoes on at the door

"Yes, but where is Jacky?" I asked

"Aah, someone messed up an order and now the employee is crying cause the customer is cussing them out, or something along those lines" she said with a shrug making me shrug.

Jacqueline Lincoln is not just my best friend, she is also the person I started my restaurant with. She handles everything that has nothing to do with the kitchen cause that is my job. We both do have assistances that are at the restaurant every day, whether we are there or not, who are also gonna be taking take of our restaurant when we open a new one someday.

...

"Chop, chop lazy butt, get to work" Mr Smith said the moment I walked into the kitchen in my mother's diner
"Why is my waitress still in the kitchen?"

"Uniform" Addy said making the old man chuckle before he wrapped her special apron around her waist while I tied her hair up

"I'm gonna die of a heart attack one of these days and she's gonna be the reason behind it" he said as we watched her look around for customers with her notepad and pencil
