Space Marines ranks and company: Because of how new the chapter is, the company size isn't very big. However that doesn't really matter because of how effective they still are. Even as a small group. As such there's only three companies:

Company November
Company Oscar
Company Tango

From there, they are divided into squads:

Squadron 232 (Two - Three - Two)
Squadron 790 (Seven - Nine - Oh)
Squadron 087 (Oh - Eight - Seven)
Squadron 651 (Six - Five - One)
Squadron 533 (Five - Three - Three)
Squadron 662 (Six - Six - Two)
Squadron 557 (Five - Five - Seven)
Squadron 223 (Two - Two - Three)
Squadron 001 (Oh - Oh - One)

Each squadron belongs to a company, and each company has three squads:

November Company (232, 790, 087)
Oscar Company (651, 533, 662)
Tango Company (557, 223, 001)

And from there each squadron has five units:

Squadron 232, unit: Meteor, Star, Shield, Visor, Dagger

Squadron 790, unit: Whisker, Viper, Smoke, Blood, Falcon

Squadron 087, unit: Missile, Cyclone, Hurricane, Tsunami, Crasher

Squadron 651: unit: Victor, Moscow, Angelo, Miles, Ichigo

Squadron 553, unit: Western, Glove, Kukri, Axe, Nova

Squadron 662, unit: Rose, Yang, Winter, Oz, Kai

Squadron 557, unit: Disciple, Ranger, Scholar, Pen, Watch

Squadron 223, unit: York, Hammer, Wrench, Flyer, Vodka

Squadron 001, unit: Charger, Ghost, Blade, Drive, Mechanic

While the unit's name doesn't hold any real meaning, some have taken the names a little too literally. For example: the Rose Unit will use that type of flower as a calling card of some sort. Laying it down on their enemies bodies. Sometime they will use that particular flower as a warning sign that there are somewhere present. Or the Mechanic Unit, who will try to fix whatever they possibly can for the benefit of not only their allies, but also for themselves.

When addressing a Marine, it will go as follow somewhat:

"Sir, this is Lt Nidulon Cybutanus. Unit 'Hammer' of Squadron 223, Company Tango reporting in, Sir."

The Marine does not necessarily have to tell EVERYTHING, but they can if they wanted to.

One more thing, each company has a distinctive marking that is the same for every company and unit:

Company November (Left knee, right shoulder, has a marking of the letter 'N' with a sword crossed behind it)

Company Oscar (Right knee, left shoulder, has the marking of the letter "O" with the imperial insignia inside)

Company Tango (Right knee, right shoulder, has the marking of the letter "T" cut into two)

Now as for the Space Marines ranking system, it goes as follows:

New Blood

Bullet Sergeant
Warrant Sergeant
Zodiac Sergeant

(Rank equivalent to that of Battle Brothers - Sergeants)

Lieutenant
Sword Lieutenant
