Alice POV:

It's the next day. This time Kevin playing music.

"HURRY UP!" I screech.

"Calm down!" Kevin yells.

"When we get to the store! I DO THE SHOPPING!" I remind him.

"Okay whatever" He mumbles.

"AAAAAAAGGGHH" Kevin screams. I roll my eyes and sit on the ground.

He finally opens the door and I get the bathroom for myself. "Finally!" I praise.

(At the store)

I'm pushing the cart and getting items while Kevin walks next to me.

When we get to the checkout, I take the lighter items out the cart.

"I hate you" Kevin mumbles while holding the Tide and the milk. I smile kindly at him.

"Are those microwave dinners any good?" Kevin asks the checkout lady.

"I don't know" The lady responds with a smile. She holds up a bag of army men and looks at me and Kevin.

"For the kids" Kevin smiles.

As she scans the orange juice Kevin stops her. "I have a coupon for that" He says pulling it out of his pocket and handing it to the woman.

"You're like my I-I mean our mom" I teased. He ignored me.

"Are you here all by yourself?" She asks me and him.

"Ma'am I'm eight years old, and she's nine you think we would be here alone?" Kevin asks.

"I don't think so" We say at the same time.

"Where's your mom?" She asks.

I turn to Kevin.

"Our mom's in the car" Kevin answers.

"Where's your father?"

"He's at work"

"What about your other brothers and sisters?" She asks

"It's only us" Kevin points to me. I smile lovingly.

"Where do you live?" She questions. I cringe. Who does this lady think she is? The police? Ghostbusters?

"I can't tell you that!" Kevin complains.

"Why not?" The lady continues. WHY NOT? Is she crazy? Maybe she's drugged. Someone call the real police.

"You're a stranger!" Kevin says taking up the magazine.

The lady returns to the cash register but gives us both the look.

As we're walking home, both of the bags break so we have to carry them by hand. It sucks.

At home we do the laundry.

"Hello Kevin!" The furnace says.

"Shut up!" Kevin yells and it does. "I didn't know you could speak with furnaces!" I joke.

"You shut up too Alice!"

3RD POV:

Harry: I don't get it. It looks like there's nobody home. Last night the place was jumping. Something ain't right. Go check it out.

Marv: Now?

Harry: No, tomorrow, egghead! Now! Go ahead. "Now."
