"That concludes the report for this month, sir."

A boy's whispered voice echoed in a dimly lighted room. He knelt before another man, his head bowed low, expressing both respect and dread for the imposing presence.

"I see... Good work," the man responded, seated in his chair with a faint smile emerging on his face. "You may leave now," he added, dismissing the boy without even sparing a glance in his direction.

Before rising to his feet and leaving, the child summoned the confidence to speak up. "U-um... if I've done everything you asked for... I'll get the reward, right?" His voice trembled with nervousness, and he couldn't help but clench his teeth as he awaited the man's response. Cold sweat trickled down his back and forehead, adding to his unease.

"Why, of course, boy. Why wouldn't I?" With a bitter grin, the man returned his sight to the youngster. "After all, the souls of the people that you brought to me were quite useful. As expected, they are more potent than the ones in the Rukongai," he remarked, his tone satisfied.

"I don't deserve such kind words. It's only natural that I must live up to your expectations," the boy said, his voice trembling with a mix of fear and determination. "Then, I'll excuse myself now." He remained in his kneeling position for a moment before slowly standing up and turning around to walk away.

"I'll be looking forward to the next batch's arrival next month. As always, the ones with high potential would be the best," the man stated, his voice laced with a sinister tone as he gave his orders.

"Of course. And I already have a few in mind. I'm confident that they will not disappoint at all. Please look forward to it." the boy said enthusiastically. He then quickly took a bow, turned around, closed the door behind him, and instantly flash-stepped away.

The man's gaze shifted to the side where a table stood, holding a glass container-like case. Inside rested a peculiar orb, emitting a strange and eerie energy. He extended his hand and picked up the case, holding it beneath the glass. As he gazed into the mysterious orb, a sinister grin began to spread across his face, a malevolent glint in his eyes.

"All is proceeding according to my will," he whispered, his voice carrying a chilling confidence.

Six months had whizzed by since that eventful first day at the academy. Life on campus had become a whirlwind of intense training, captivating classes, and forging new friendships. Each student was dedicatedly honing their skills, be it combat techniques or delving into the depths of social studies. There was an undeniable energy in the air as everyone wholeheartedly pursued their goals.

The same could be said about the golden-eyed girl, who's leisurely walking at her own pace as she made her way to class. Her silvery moonlit hair intermingling with hues of light blue, gracefully flowing in the air. Her appearance exuded an otherworldly grandeur, causing the elegant walls and pillars that adorned the surroundings to fade in comparison, accentuating her ethereal beauty even further.

She continued walking until something lunged towards her out of nowhere. As though she anticipated it, Amatsuki swiftly bent her upper body forward, narrowly dodging it, leaving a weak breeze brush against her hair as it flowed past her.

"Ah!" a cute, high-pitched squeak resounded in front of her.

Following that, Amatsuki lifted her head to find out that the "something", was actually a "someone". It was a petite blonde girl stumbling forward, trying to regain her balance. She eventually managed to steady herself by holding onto the nearby wall. She then turned around with a pout on her face as her ruby red eyes met Amatsuki.
