Entry #4- Just Another Usual Day

You haul the coffee and take a sip from it. Ah, the heat soothes you. You sip and sip until the last drop. The coffee's great, until you feel an immense pain, causing you to writhe on the floor, and seconds later you're a dead lump of meat.

What a lovely day!

The door opens, startling you from your demise. Your secretary comes inside and places the coffee on the table. She smiles before turning, and as she does, your gaze travels down to her back.

Why don't you have a cup of coffee first? You immediately call your secretary as you think the idea seems better. Since you just ate bread as breakfast this morning, a cup of coffee will ease and bring energy to you. As you wait, scenes of morbid deaths flood your mind. Falling of a roof. Getting impaled by pipes. Having your head cut off from your body because of a flying seam. The scenes are so grotesque you feel like vomiting.

Well, today is another usual day.

You are about to press the elevator button when an idea comes inside your mind. What if the wires break and the elevator you're riding falls down the shaft, crushing you to your death? You feel shivers run down your spine, so you use the stairs instead. Yes, it is kind of tiring but you think climbing is better than getting crushed, right?

Ah, the bright and mighty rays of the sun up above your usual day!

You look at your watch as it registers 7:55AM. I know you know that luck isn't always beside you, like what if the bus you'll take will crash and the shards of broken glasses impale you in your seat? Just being cautious, you dismiss the 8:00AM bus and decide to take the other one. You don't care if you'll be late.

You're already successful anyway.

It's normal, right?

Time passes fast and you are now ready for work. You smile as you look in front of the mirror, feeling proud of your dreams turned into reality. A boy who used to live in the slums before is now a successful business person. You get to travel into the different places of this world without any hesitation or financial difficulty.

It is just another mundane day. Isn't it?

You wake up as the blinding rays of the sun wedging from the gaps of your window's curtain reach your face. You squint as your eyes adjust from the colors.

Well, everyone wants to live forever. Who wants to die without experiencing the best things in life? But as you can see, I know you're tired of dying within the past six days. Yet I told you before that it is the consequence for disobeying the agreement in your contact. I know. I know that it is such a bummer to forget the rules.

But anyway.

Welcome to your last day. Day 7 of 7. The end of your contract with the devil.
