A Moment, My Luna

I long to hold on to a moment now gone.

It matters not my tears fall upon it,

For only they try to reach you through it.

If I could reach you now,

I would surely do it...

A testament to love, one did comit.

Distant, only ever, do I see your trace.

A place, that for me is out of reach,

As if that is to be our fate.

I try in vain to call your name,

But my lips cannot move.

In silence maintained,

Silent they remain,

As if I am never to speak again.

What wind steals my voice?

Do the waves drown my cries?

Something beyond me controls these tides.

For a moment, I catch a glimpse of you.

It was an imposter of the sea.

For if I sank beneath the waves and searched,

There you would not be found by me.

I search for you,

My talismanic Luna.

You, who have witnessed every single life unfold,

The story of my life is yet untold

So now, you guide my way,

Throughout this darkest phase,

I see you...

I gaze...

Upon night's brilliance

As if my eyes gaze upon you yourself,

For if I search within I see,

Nought but waning memories of you,

That time removes from me.
