THE date was going well, despite your friends distaste for your "boyfriend". the eight (8) of you ate at a familiar restaurant close to your college campus as it was cheap.
CHAE-YEONG "i'm so happy this is finally happening!!"
the brunette spoke with a smile on her face as she clapped her hands, her partner laughing at her antics. you smiled also, glancing at hyunjin every few seconds to check his comfortability.
you couldn't help but feel nervous however you didn't know why. it wasn't like it was a real date, like hyunjin had to impress your friends. maybe it was to do with the fact the two of you were faking everything.
HYUNJIN "you okay?"
the blonde whispered. he had been observing you and he could tell your were nervous, you had been biting your lip and bouncing your leg. it was a habit you, and his elder chan, had in common.
YOU "just.."
you paused, taking in a deep breath.
YOU "what if they figure it out? that we're faking it?"
hyunjin only smiled, sliding his hand into yours, making sure to intertwine your fingers. he leaned in to speak once more:
HYUNJIN "they won't, okay? just follow my lead."
you had no choice but to trust him as you smiled and nodded. he smiled back at you lifting his head up slightly, pressing a kiss to your temple.
chae-yeong noticed sending a wink your way and you rolled eyes with a soft smile on your face.
maybe these group dates wouldn't be so bad?

HYUNJIN "i'm incredibly bored."
hyunjin groaned as he laid sprawled out on the sofa the two of you were sat on. his leg lifted, almost hitting you in the face, causing you to smack it away from you with a disgusting look on your face.
"get those grippers away from me!"
hyunjin gasped as your hand connected with his calf. he lifted his head up from the arm of the sofa looking over at you with a hurtful expression.
he quickly brought his leg to his chest, letting out a whine as he rubbed the area you slapped.
HYUNJIN "ouch! ouch!"
"i literally didn't even hit you that hard, you're such a baby."
you deadpanned, fighting the urge to break out into a grin at his stupidity. he smiled at you, a small giggle tumbling out of his mouth.
once the two of you had calmed down, the blonde decided to speak up once more.
HYUNJIN "the date went well, yeah?"
you hummed in thought, the day replaying in your head.
"it did, thank you."
you smiled, running your fingertips over his legs that were laying against your lap.
HYUNJIN "do you know when the next one is? we should plan something in advance"
you frowned.
"like what?"
HYUNJIN "we could do matching outfits. or do something before we go, i don't know, pick something."
you giggled at him, liking the idea of matching outfits.
"matching outfits could be cute! then we can be like "you're copying me" or something on twitter"
hyunjin's giggle widened your smile. he clapped his hands and shook his head before speaking.
HYUNJIN "this is so cringe and we're not even a real couple! people are gonna hate us!"
that didn't matter for the two of you though. for some reason you both got enjoyment out of this fake dating agreement.
